Will be correcting this tonight/tomorrow.

Didn't read this entire thread, so if this was already posted, please forgive.

I'm not a fan of how embedded links aren't obvious. I understand this was probably a style choice, but when there's no way to differentiate a link with regular text, I think that's bad. While I'm sure I could manually change the font and color of the text I wanted to use as a link, that's extra work. And I don't like work. :p

For example (and this is not intended as a shameless plug, just to illustrate my point)
TARDIS Build Diary - FAQ - YouTube

When I go to post, I get a pop up about leaving the page. A few times I have gotten the "We only allow x posts per time period please try again in x seconds" page.

This is due to a caching and load issue... which is causing the whole site to have some speed problems. We are working on it.

I use a cell most of the time on here. Will there be a preset to where I can stay in full site mode or will I be forced into mobile mode everytime I log on? I know I can change to full mode after Im here, but Im required to power down my phone several times a day at work and I jump back into mobile mode again.

This is something we are simply going to have to test.

BTW, not that important but is there an option to have colored text too?

We haven't allowed the option to use the colored text bbcode for a long time. The reason being that members can then create text that isn't readable... you know... kinda like what we have now done with the whole site... ;)

Now that we have fixed the pagination and bottom "share your fandom" button, it seems like the primary concern centers around the ability to get to particular locations in a thread from the threadlist.

I am a little confused on this because at the moment:

If you click on the thread you are taken to the first post of the thread.
If you click on the icon to the left of the thread title, you are taken to the first new post of the thread (which will be different for each member).
If you click on the datestamp under Last Post By, you are taken to the very last post of the thread.

Is this simply a matter of education or is there something missing?

I understand this, however, when I click to see new posts, the icon does not appear to the left of the thread title to see the first new post since my last visit. I've attached a screen print. rpf.jpg

Alright, we have darkened the text, ONLY in the posts, for now. We have stepped down the darkness of that text considerably, from #444444 to #222222, which in color terms are lightyears apart, two steps down from where we were and only two steps up from solid black.

Here is a comparison.

Will there be other "skins" or colour schemes? I know it's not so much a problem as a preference but I have some issues with reading the default scheme easily.

Peter, we just darkened the text of the posts considerably. Are you still having readability issues?

Mobile view on android when viewing a thread appears to have no 'reply' button. Only 'quote and reply'.

When viewing your 'about me' tab in your profile on the desktop site, there is a button in the top right to 'view your 'about me' as viewed by everyone else' when clicked, this flicks you back to the 'my activity' tab, but the view doesnt seem to change. If you now navigate to the 'about me' tab, the button in the top right has changed to 'edit your 'about me', which when clicked, again flicks you back to the 'my activity' tab, and doesnt allow you to edit the profile at all.

When editing a post you get a duplication of phrases as displayed on the screen, but which doesnt actually exist, like a 'ghost phrase'

Example, when editing the above post the start of the second paragraph reads as:

When viewing your 'about me' tab in your profile on the desktop site, there is a button in the top right to 'view your 'about me' as viewed by everyone else' 'view your 'about me' as viewed by everyone else'

Think it's been mentioned, but different color on Hyperlinks or underlined etc to stand out, as links to images, FB, Youtube etc, blend to much with normal text and don't really notice the links, example:

So here are some of the issues we are facing... that everyone has different monitors, different browsers and different vision. Worse yet, we have different renderings by the different browsers. Take a look at these three member's computer's rendering of text from posts made here on the RPF.

The first is grelocke. His text renders extremely blocky, with no gradients at all.

The next is mine; Windows 8, using Chrome as my browser. Mine is a little better than grelocke's with slight gradients to ease out the curvatures.

the final is Gino's; a Mac using Safari. His is the best and most clear rendering of all.

Grrrr...

Making the icon for threads posted in more visible would certainly help.

Want to give this one some time. I think after a few days of this, it will be obvious. It isn't at the moment because it is new and much like the difference in the stark contrast to lowered contrast, I think some of the subtlety here is shocking because we are so used to being smashed in the face with the previous icons. If we come back to this in a month or so and people still feel that it is truly frustrating, we will give it consideration.
It was not clear enough for me before, but now I see that the forum threads which have new posts are easily distinguishable, as the icon for threads without new posts has more faded colors.

But for the forum index page it still isn't distinct enough. I wonder if the blue RPF logo with grey background might work as the icon for forum with new postings, though I understand if it's considered too bright with the overall page.

Excuse the crude example as I quickly made it up in MS Paint, it's not in scale with the original icons.
