New RPF artwork thread

re: New RPF "artwork" thread

Some absolutely awe inspiring works in this thread!

I really do wish my 2d skills were up to scratch!

I am a CGI artist and have recently created this image in anticipation for The Dark Knight Rises.

You can see more of my work at - Studios if you hadnt guessed I am an automotive CGI artist :)

Thanks DS, really appreciate someone of your skill level saying this ::):cool

I wish I could get a grasp on 3D digital art. I had maya a few years ago and messed around with it for a while and got nowhere.

Again, kick ass stuff.

It takes some getting used to, personally I think Maya is a bit of a bugger to use, I use 3ds max predominantly and have been for 10 years now. I find it more intuitive compared to maya.

There are many tuts out there now on youtube if you ever wanted to pick it up again.

Alot of new guys have been using Cinema4D and been getting good FAST! If you ever needed to be pointed in the right direction I would be more than happy to help :)

Now that´s funny to hear! I do know a few guys in the movie industry over here in Germany that use Cinema4D ( I´ve been using it since 2004, but nowadays it´s more of a hobby than anything else), but hearing that it is getting a broader user base is nice to hear.

I used to draw nonstop, even sold some of my drawings to bands. A lot of my old art was quite morbid and graphic, so I won't post it all. Here are some of the more "tame" ones. I apologize if anybody finds them offensive.

My newer work is mostly all sculpture. Here's something I just finished, a solid bronze cow weighing in at just under 15 lbs. Here's a link to my blog, which I update less than frequently.

The art in here is amazing...everyone is so talented. Great work :D

Here's a few of my recent orca drawings. Orca's are pretty much all i draw but i want to draw a Tau fire warrior.

I also added my Tribes ascend piece which was for a contest.

re: New RPF "artwork" thread

I just finished this.
Most of you probably don't reconize this car. But if you where a kid in scandinavia in the '70s or '80s I'm pretty sure you also thinks this is the coolest car ever. :D

Holy Cow.......

OK I was just going to post lamenting Ramiel's absence from positng new stuff, and no-one get me wrong, but I felt like Ramiel was an incredibly constructive and inspiring creative member.

That being said, I was pouring through the thread and recently both DIStudio and Darthsaber both of you, Your work is jaw dropping, and in very different genres. Stunning stuff, thank you for sharing!!!!

Very cool. NICE work.... 'Bjergkøbing Grandprix' as we call it in Denmark, is a timeless classic :)

re: New RPF "artwork" thread

Very talented work on this thread, I read and looked at each page.
Really impressive stuff.

I wish I had more time to sit and take my time to draw, I haven't done anything new in over 10 years. I really like to take a class just for fun.

I saw this thread and thought I'd copy some of my drawings into my computer and post 'em.

I had an idea in the late 90's while watching football on Thanksgiving. So I drew an offense with Marvel heroes. I made it into a poster and had a storyline with it, sent it to Marvel thinking they might use it.
Ah...youth :lol

Here are just a few:

Wide Receivers Spider Man and Quicksilver
Tailback Wolverine
Fulllback Beast
QB Cap
TE Thor
Coach Nick Fury

I've been working on recreating/digitally painting on my LE1700 touch tablet the ILM Creature Crew illustration seen on the Star Wars cast & crew shirts.

It's super fun, and I'm getting a better eye for digitally painting and even though I'm using a stylus and it's very organic, it still is sometimes just not the same as traditional... BUT STILL LOVE IT!

Here's my progress... still got some ways to go...

Here's the Illustration I'm recreating:

Hard when you have halftone dots interferring with seeing the true detail.
