new robocop suit opinion *spoiler*

I'm wondering if they are going to go with a "man in a suit" approach story-wise, rather than the classic 80s version where he's 99.9% machine.

Maybe he gets damaged a few times and is upgraded during repairs.

I'm not crazy about the looks of it, but "set pics" often don't look that great. Things usually look much better in a finished movie scene.

Now is this supposed to be picked up after the original movies?

If so, The hand he has exposed is the one Clarence blew off. How
did he manage to grow a new one?

No matter what htey do color wise, I don't care for this look. Not at all!

I really like the helmet redesign. The rest of it is dreadful. I'm with the rest of you, I hope it gets a CGI boost or something because this is so bland it's sad. You can be streamlined and sleek without being dull.

There is literally nothing iconic about this suit. The original Robocop had such a huge influence on my childhood that I might be biased, but I just don't see anything in this suit that is going to inspire the same awe and wonder that the original did when Murphy stepped out the first time as Robo.

I still get misty when I think of the tight shot on his eyes after the cops open fire on him and you see his panicked eye looking out of the visor at you. Man I love that film.

I sure hope this one doesn't totally suck, but if this is an accurate representation of the suit it's going to be hard to keep the faith.

Also, what's up with lone human hand? I read that's intentional, not a filming short cut. So Robo needed his trigger finger to stay flesh and bone or something? Sad.

That means they will start out with something at least similar to the original and go down hill from there.

Sent from my Etch-A-Sketch

He'll start in Robocop 1 armor and end up in Robocop 3 armor with a jetpack before this armor.

I don't really have a problem with it actually. He could use a bit more "bulk" though in the chest department. Now he looks too thin.

Oh man, what If the human hand is part of the design? Like he isn't just missing a glove, it's a part of his human body that wasn't destroyed.......that would REALLY suck.

I dunno... in the original movie, they shot one of his hands with a shotgun or something like that. I kind of thought the missing hand was a nod to that.

In their logic they kept his trigger finger intact I bet. God forbid you just make the gun bigger to fit the giant robohand. I bet this was designed by the geniuses who made the new Transformer designs.

Personally I'm going with the theory that it's a nod to the original.

i had to kill the costume designer because he made a mistake, now it's time to erase that mistake.
