Hello to everybody. Can't tell you how glad I am you guys started accapting new members again!

Anyway, I figured I'd throw up a post of some of my previous props as a way to say hi. Some of you who know me from other boards know that I usually build something in the spirit of a movie prop but with my own design or twist. Not that I'm opposed to replicas... I guess I'm getting myself warmed up with these customs and will tackle some replicas after I build my knowlege a bit. Plus... sometimes I'm just too creative for my own good. :cool
Comming soon (loosely using the word soon here) from my lab will hopefully be a custom proton pack for halloween... followed by a more movie accurate one, some mark x tricorders, and who knows what else!
Enjoy...

My first lightsaber - handmade with zero powertools... a complete cut and paste job from stuff I purchased from home depot/drug stores etc. I wanted to make my first one with nothing other than creativity and plenty of epoxy of course...

Hey I recognize that blaster!!! Welcome to the RPF!! You have some awesome props to join the club with. :)

Welcome aboard! I really like the emmiter on the first saber and the PKE and TC. The PKE and TC look like they coulda been used in there respective movies for sure!

Wow... thanks for all the kind words and the warm welcome. I've been hoping to become a member of this site for a long time and it really makes me smile that you guys dig my work. Thank you.

Some people had asked to know more about the tricorder. It was a travel alarm clock I bought at Walgreens drug store a while back. It was made by a company called "Living Solutions". It was a pretty simple build, I opened it up and removed the lcd screen and used a set of mark X tric graphics. I chose to keep the internal circuits, except for the lcd and the receiving antenna, that way when you press the dark grey buttons it will still beep in different ways. All the graphics were actually cut from a set of mark x tric graphics. Here's a shot of the clock I used with the bottom cover removed but it gives you a good look at the main body...

I'm actually cooking up another custom 29th century tric made out of a different clock and will post pics of that when I start working on it again.

And I think somebody else asked about the gun. It was a custom peice made for a blaster building contest on propsummit.com. It was supposed to be based in the Blade Runner universe. I wanted to make something that looked like a peice a gang member would've carried in the movie.
Basically, the base of it was a cheap 7 dollar airsoft gun I got at the local flea market. For the top section I used different sizes and styles of pvc connectors. There's a few rubber grommets in there, some peices from a lantern starter, and a choke tube for a 12 gauge shotgun for the end of the barrell.
Here's one more pic of the gun... I have dozens more but they're all blurry... :unsure I could take some more on request though...

And here's a sneak peek at another gun project I've been working on...
