I went through and measured every reference I could find so far, and assuming Tony's Mk 43 helmet is exactly 1 foot, then the hulkbuster is ~15-16 feet tall. But if the helmet is only 10 inches, the the hulkbuster would be 12.5 feet. Sorry I couldn't be more precise, but it figured a ballpark is better then a wild guess.

As long as all the parts are scale with each other couldn't you just alter the final dimensions after the exact hight is known? That way you can just scale it to the referance pics ?

I hope this helps for comparison. We saw the mark 43 helmets before the hulk buster helmet closes so this is i think closer if not exactly

Theoretically, yes. It the problem is that with a lot of parts, if it is majorly different than the size it was built, it would be very loose or tight for the wearer. A lot of the parts would be fine, but it would make a difference in how it fits the one wearing the suit. It would be fine for a statue or bust, but unless it is not going to be worn at all, it needs to be pretty exact.

i scrapped making my other hulk buster suit as soon as i saw the trailer as its alot different i would very much liek to build this thing out of foam

Love this - awesome and a huge undertaking (pun intended). On the overall scaling of your Hulkbuster template, consider incorporating stilts for the wearer to add height. By doing that you can keep a larger scale, with some - compromise between the movie depicted size and something practical to wear. That may also help maintain overall proportions. Individuals scaling the suit for themselves would then scale the stilts accordingly (as they would need to do with any model). I saw someone do this at a costume contest last year. Height brings attention!

Sorry guys for the break... I am back and working strong. I will be starting the chest plate next. Lets see if we can get this suit finished!!!!

I still need TONS and TONS of help finding resource images!!!! I need shots of the back of this suit desperately

Been looking almost everyday for new pics to emerge. When they do, I'll be sure to post what I can here for you!

New progression... Not sure if I am completely happy with it. I will hopefully improve it as I go along.

What do you guys think?
