Ah-ha i wondered what the first LOTR prop was going to be from HCG - They've had a LOTR banner / page for a while with nothing on it.

Very pleased to see that their first entry is the Legolas bow, looks great.

Why oh why do HCG do this to me, i've no money at all and they keep on bringing out stuff i want.

Well done HCG - another fantastic replica.:thumbsup

Is that really accurate? For some reason I thought it was going to be, I don't know...prettier.

That's the one UC had and new line would not let them make. It came from weta, not sure if it's screen used or not.

$300 for a fake bow? Why would anyone want such a thing? Now, if they could make a fuctional one, I'd be all over it.

Have to agree, while it does look good..once i hear molded and bow...meh. A functional one done along the same lines would have been better

UC made their one functional, you could keep an eye out for one, i've seen them on ebay from time to time.

Maybe it's just the inner geek, but I don't remember Legolas having a last name, much less Greenleaf.

Edit to add: Now with more Geek!!! Legolas is Sindarin for Greenleaf. So their name is kinda redundant.

UC never made one, New Line said they didn't negotiate that into the license. Another company was suppose to make a functional one but I think it was a regular bow with some paint added.

BOWSTICK Archery had the license for both the Mirkwood and Lothlorien bows of Legolas, however, I suppose with the coming of UCG's bows they lost that license.
Their old bow seen here*

However, the do still have an AWESOME mirkwood bow,

I couldn't help but imagine that if you called the guys at bowstick, they might be willing to carve at a Lothlorien style stave for you to finish at home.

They did that for me. I'm thrilled with how it turned out (I did all the sculpting on it), but I'd like to have one that was cast from the original more. Pics in this post:

Wow, I think that turned out great! Did you also convince them to do the peacock quiver and bows for you 'after the fact' as well? Those are all beautiful pieces!

My Mistake, it was bowstick!!

Thanks! :)
The quiver is actually licensed by New Line. I don't know who made it, but it does have the New Line markings on it. The arrows came from bowstick too.

I have already pre ordered on of these..i think it looks AMAZING! my favorite of the weapons used in Lord of the rings... functionality doesnt matter to me...i wont be shooting it!

However, the do still have an AWESOME mirkwood bow,

Medioevo is the name of the company in Italy that makes that functional Mirkwood bow. Agreed on the quality of the replica; I've got the 40# version- very nice and exceptionally light, although the gold 'leaves' painted onto the wood aren't totally screen-accurate...Still really feels like something the Elves could've made.

I've put a deposit down on this Lothlorien bow since it's just so darn pretty, although it's a shame that it's not functional. Oh well, heck- I hear the one in the films was made of rubber, so I guess this wooden one is actually an upgrade! :lol
