Looks like the cars just got delegated to the out doors, cause there won't be room in the garage for them AND my 1:6 FalconI think you are right.
Man . . . how cool would it be if somebody built a MF "bigature" the size of a two-car garage?
I'm picturing a whole series of SW "bigatures". Disney could display them all in one place at a theme park. The MF, TIEs, X-wings, AT-AT, AT-ST, perhaps a Star Destroyer (have to notch that one's scale down compared to the others), etc. Sorta like those airplane museums where they have a bunch of small & medium-size historic planes on display.
It'll never happen but it would be pretty awesome if it did. You can't really display "life size" copies of a lot of SW stuff because of the scales of things. This could be a compromise. They could build them bigger than a SUV but small enough for people to walk around them and get a good look. Not to mention keeping the costs/space of the whole exhibit under control.
Just from looking at just 32'' studio model..I had come up with leaving the FRONT sidewalls alone and only moving the side/rear ones. I think the rear/side ones are pushed out for 2 reasons. #1 With the stickers, thats kinda where the details would poke out to #2 Makes the model more secure...the more overhang you have, the better chance you have of the overhang breaking off and making the model not as "play-able" for kids. The plastic used here is really not sturdy at all when you get down to something thin like that.So the question I have to have is "how can Hasbro get THAT close, and yet miss areas of the ship?". I mean, they're clearly paying attention to the sculpt, and it's not a case of incorporting play features, so what's up with that? So close and yet...anyhoo, so it looks like maybe the mandible sidewalls shouldn't be removed and set back while the aft quarter walls should? I mean, just based on the top view outline.
...
The Hsmf is a photo that I took from about 9 feet away to minimise perspective problems. I spent a long time setting up the camera exactly 90% from the angle of the top elevation, once I had taken pics I set it all up again from scratch and both setup pics came out identical so I’m happy with the quality...
My question is how did Hasbro make a better Falcon than all the model companies, taking in consideration, detail, accuracy, size and price?:lol

Agreed. Or put in other words - just what is the history behind this toy? How was it generated?
Have we already been able to conclude if this is (or is not) a dead match for the ep VII MF (other than the dish)? Do we know if Abrams et.al. created their VII MF as indeed a hybrid, and if so then did Hasbro get digital files on the VII MF?
To me it seems unusual that a toy company would make such a big toy that doesn't do anything, that doesn't accurately match any of the previous filming vehicles, yet gets so many details and shapes right. Things that even model companies got wrong no less. I strongly suspect that we will see a re-release of this toy in a years time, modified to match the Ep. VII vehicle, possibly with added detail and/or working features.
Plus, look at it this way. Lucas retained ownership of all the original models after the sell off. More than likely, Hasbro got all the reference for this Falcon toy from Disney, not George. In that respect, I think this is a thinly veiled copy of the Ep. VII Falcon.
.My theory is that Abrams/Disney has homogenized the original two models to make their own ep VII digital model of the MF, and that Hasbro subsequently got copies of files to produce the toy.
