There's a number on new and some very nice looking blasters in Rogue One. Many of them seem to be based on more obscure stuff from earlier films, which is a very clever way of making new things looking familiar.
My question to the knowledgeable is what to call a new blaster, like this one:

This promo-shot of Bistan the midship gunner holds what at first glance seem to be a DH-17 Rebel blaster, with the typical aluminium fore end. It seems quite large, but Kellington playing this role is a small guy (a former Tele Tubby), so it's a fairly compact blaster. The scope is different from the DH-17 type, and it has a cocking slit and handle, more like the E11 pistol (photo below):

So my question is, is this a DH-17? Is it supposed to be a different (earlier) blaster from the same family, or something else entirely? If they wanted to make ANH-style DH-17s, nicking the scope of a nerf blaster would be relatively simple, even the original mould for the slightly banana-shaped ANH blasters still exists:
