New Airsoft PR On Evike

For what its worth guys I had a falling out with Aervoe, I do not suggest using their 999 earth brown, its way off "now".

Ive been buying it by the case for several years, earlier this year I orderd a case, started spraying a piece and it came out a whole shade lighter! I thought it was a fluke, so I checked all the cans... same... :(

I took the batch number and called aervoe, spoke with the floor manager and the head mixer or whomever was responsible for the paint formulation... explained the situation, sent them proof of the difference...and after a few days several emails and phone calls I wound up with the answer..."Sorry thats what the color is now, were not changing it."
And I was left with six cans of paint I cant use.
I CAN empty the cans mix the color down and airbrush it... but why go to that trouble if you dont have to...(sadly I have to).

Here are the samples I scanned with the batch numbers.

It may be acceptable to some accounting for weathering etc, but out of the can its no longer a good replacement for BB...IMHO.

Buyer beware, your milage may vary etc...

Wow what a difference! It's like "brown" now. How sad. I considered ordering some but decided to go OD instead.

It's an easy mod and total cost is about $5. Here;s a quick video of how a Tokyo Marui tracer BB will look going through the chamber. I can't wait to fire this. It's gonna look great!

I'll find out Thursday. I just got the shipping confirmation. Matt, how recent was this? Maybe I'll luck out and the batch from this place is old stock.

Good luck on the paint. Hopefully yes it is old stock. The HUTU looks great. Are going to run the LEDs off of the counters 9v or are you adding another one somewhere?
 
It. Was about three months ago. You may luck out if you didn't order directly from Aervoe as I did . So it my be safe to hope if you order from a vendor they still have old stock from an earlier batch.

You know what? Hilariously, I never even considered running it down to the counter switch. LOL! That's a great idea. I'm looking at the counter housing and it could definitely work.

I was going to run it forward to a 9v battery box in the GL with the switch behind the "bolt". Racking the pump handle gains access but I love the counter switch idea!

It's also not finished. There won't be so much light escaping. I've got it wired but I need to go get a new hot glue gun today. The outside of the LEDs will be covered with black hot glue so the only light will be inside the HUTU.

I saw this but mine isn't going to be a skirmish gun. It will mostly be a wall hanger that I can play with from time to time so I might just leave it as is. (I just noticed this is for the G&P version. He also did one for the Snow Wolf version).

Found a way to run the HUTU wires straight down through the counter unit and I'll just solder them to the leads that are already there. I've already made the changes so I'll finish it when I put it all back together.

Because I'm an idiot and I get OCD once an idea comes to mind, I just bought another PR and a Maruzen clone 870 spring shotgun. I really want to get the shotgun in the GL to work. :facepalm

The shotgun was only $20 so even if it doesn't work, I'll just customize the PR like the one I'm doing now and sell it.
 
I can't believe I am just finding this rifle now. I've been debating getting one from the Spat Cave but it doesn't have anywhere near the fancy features on this one, plus it is ready to go with a little paint.

Current price is $285.

I'm soooo tempted to click the checkout button. Someone push me over the edge. Is it worth it?
 
Tempting but they say it may not come with all the parts, defective, damaged, etc. Umm... what if it's broken in half? I wish they would say what is wrong with them in a little more detail instead of pot luck. I'd probably get one that one of you guys returned because it was totally busted.

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had a good 'new' one and wanted to play with modding. :unsure

Pretty sure the 20% off is already reflected in that price according to the evike home page. Regular price is $360 unless I am missing some double discount.

ETA: Oops...good call. Had to actually do the checkout to have it apply. Lets just say it was a senior moment. Now it's $250. :cool

Congrats on ordering your Pulse Rifle. I hope you did some research and ordered a better battery...
 
Oops..can I get it later? I don't plan on using this as an airsoft gun, just a fun light up prop. Maybe I missed something in the thread. Do I need the better battery just for the counter to work?
