New 52 Nightwing

First thing ye who make amazing costumes and such should know is that I am still new... I am only thirteen, but i do know how to sew and make some props and stuff. This costume is something I hope to have done by Halloween, and is based on the New 52 Nightwing costume. I plan to make it using a thick spandex for a few highlights, some mesh, and that weave that is on backpacks to make it look like Kevlar. For the gauntlets and greaves I intend to use fun-foam and paint with liquid latex to get a certain look to it. I already have my boots. Like I said, I am a newbie, so I don't even know how to embed pictures yet, so here is a link to the costume basic, and as hard as I have tried, I can't find a better one on the net though. I have a question...Does anyone know where he keeps his escrima sticks now? I don't think they would fit under my forearms...

I think they work using comic physics and that they just appear when needed. In Arkham City he wears them on his back, so there's that route. You can also deviate from the comics a little and wear them at your hip like a night stick. Just a few ideas. I'm working on an outfit myself and will probably make a "holster" for them.

I know I saw a thread where a member had the same setup on his "Kick-Ass" costume. I'll try to find the thread

Ok, so i am going to the store next Monday or Tuesday to get supplies... The gauntlets are going to be made with regular craft foam that has been ironed down, then coated with shoe polish, then varnish. I have heard it makes it look like leather... as for the escrima, I am going to make a holster in my boots.

I have bought some of the materials. Right now i have a stretchy denim type black fabric, and the mesh too. I have scrapped the craft foam gauntlets and greaves in favor of a slightly more costly pleather design. I will begin sewing the lower portion soon. I am also not going to attempt to hide the zipper in the back, and as seen in Nightwing issue 10, it will be strait down the front. For somer of the lines i will use puffy paint.

I have made a wooden wing ding. I used issue 10 forreference again, although I made it alot smaller. Its kind of thick, but I can sand it down.

Only seeing this build now, hope all is well with the hand. Nightwing is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the 52. All the best with finishing this, good luck.

Like above posts before, hope the hand is healing/healed, and we need some pics.

Can't tell you you're awesome if we can't see your work :p

So a year give or take later and I'm going to try again. Sorry about not finishing it and I doubt anyone is still going to check but this WILL BE DONE. However it will be updated to fit the current costume. I will start from square one and upload new stuff hopefully once enough if I have the time/resources.

Great man, just remember, pics, pics, pics. Usually people will reply if you show your progress with more than just text.

Good luck man.

Does anyone have experience waxing cloth? I was just strolling the interwebs and I saw something about it making denim shiny-ish. However, being a guy in highschool who has never had any experience, does anybody know if it will hinder stretch or anything like that? thanks in advance, diagrams an drawings coming later tonight or tomorrow.

Ok so I did a run to Party City and got these ImageUploadedByTapatalk1392431236.151298.jpg to make my mask. Like how they did in BFX
