Neodymium magnets?

I'm thinking about using neodymium magnets in my build to help keep parts together. I get that the higher the N rating is, the stronger the magnet. However having no experience using them, what will get me a strong enough magnet to hold something together, say be able to shake it/move it without parts falling off, vs. when I try to remove a part, it rips apart the entire build? :lol

Neodymium magnets hold surprisingly well. I know Mando's that use them to hold on their armor plates. And I know another person that uses them to secure shin armor to her boot. Which is kind of impressive since they hold through leather.

They all use the large diameter ones, around 1 to 1 1/2 inch diameter. And the armor is usually 6mm PVC board (sintra).

Add magnets until the piece is secure enough. That's about it really. And you will probably need to put them in two spots if the piece needs to be oriented a certain way. So it will not end up rotating around a single magnet.

Okay, thanks. I just have this vision of trying to detach something and a big chunk of prop coming away with it. :lol
