I am glad the Halo movie didn't work out for Neill Blomkamp, else District 9 and Elysium which also looks spectacular, probably wouldn't have happened.

Everything I hoped for and more. Superb effects, design and it feels like a great storyline. Wonderful. Want to bet a HALO movie gets made on the back of this?

People who saw the longer 10 min footage, say the trailer is pretty tame in comparison.

I feel it did its job in conveying the world of Elysium without giving away too much of the storyline nor did it show too many money shots.

This is one of my most anticipated films of 2013! And the trailer does not disappoint!

I'm not sure whether to be happy or disappointed that Blomkamp didn't end up doing Halo... the Elysium city looks quite Halo-esque.

Ryan Amon is composing music for a feature film for the first time and Neill Blomkamp hired him after listening to his tracks on YouTube.

Also the fact that Neill Blomkamp had Ryan Amon compose much of the Elysium music before seeing the film is the most surprising thing about this.
