Hello all, :)

I am trying to find some info about the SPFX helmet, ANH and ESB versions, but it seems kind of difficult. :confused

I would like to know if it is casted from the original, if it has been modified, if there are different versions, who makes them, value...etc...

Thanks

Alfredo

Made by a banned member here. Phil tried to pass himself off as a LucasFilm employee. His helmets have come a long way, but they are not cast from original. Others will correct me, but I believe people are saying his helmets come from a heavily modified 20th Century casting. They are really good helmets from a dealer with a crap reputation of slow shipping and really crappy customer service.

If you do a search, you can see a member here who can help with a helmet.

One of our members here, SithLord, pointed to all of the inconsistencies in Phil-SPFX's helmets and Phil has used those little red arrows and lines to tweak his castings.

They usually go for about 400 raw on eBay and around 600 or so finished. Seriously, buyer BEWARE.

Thanks!!

I thought thet the FPSX came from the original helmet..... is there any helmet for sale that comes from the original (casted)?

What Carsten said. Save your money. It's looking like it will cost near a grand for it, but sooooooooo worth it.

Thanks...
I have been reading the topic, and it is a must !!!

But i have to robber a bank first !!

Don't do that. Just do like me and save up every month, sell some stuff and getting the helmet will be so much sweeter because it took time and effort to acquire it. If the issues get fixed in the production run, then I'm definitely warming up to doing just that.

Wise words :thumbsup

As doing the same, I feel so familiar with your thoughts Carsten.

One of the myths surrounding SPFX is that his work came off the original. Years back when people didn't have many authentic props, it was easy to pull the wool over people's eyes. Now that props are a little more accessible, people can do comparative studies.

The SPFX is nothing more than a modified 20th Century mask and an illicit recast of the GH ANH dome that has been modified. SPFX's armor is also recast from GH's armor.

I do acknowledge that a significant amount was done to the facemask and the dome which, to the uninitiated, can hide the origins of each. To his credit, SPFX has been diligent in sculpting and adding details over the source pieces. Some he has done well. Some he has done inaccurately. But the signature tells of the sources he copied from are still there.

I do not support SPFX's products because they were copied without permission. However, I do acknowledge that they look decent enough for people to costume in. In no way are they direct reproductions off THE screen-used helmets. Now THAT has been the implication over the years, and that has been proven untrue, time and again.

With any prop, buy it for what it is (at face value), and not what it's hyped to be.

Thanks guys !!

I will start saving money......

And thanks also for your information about it!!
