NEED help with Road Warrior costume

OK.. So I started this quest just today to create a Warrior or the Wasteland costume and found these items in the closet.. some from prev costumes that I no longer plan on wearing.. so these pants and sports bra will be modified for the Marauder costume.. I did manage to pick up a cheap pair of elbow pads at Wallmart...

sorry for the poor quality pics.. Its hard to photograph yourself when living alone but... It's a start...


What do you guys think I should do with the sports bra?

Where can I get loose spikes to add to the elbow pads?

Thoughts.. comments.. suggestions...

You should try this on for warrior.

Definitely invest in some football shoulderpads, which you could modify by adding on spikes, or somesuch. Military combat boots would fit well, too. Maybe a couple bandoliers?

Some pieces you can convert from everyday objects, like how that one kid has an LP on a staff, or a console board as chest armor. Also, leather is really popular in futuristic wastelands.

Football pads are a must.. agreed.

I already picked up a few of these to help with the modifications

and I think I need to consider eliminating the black pants and go with green pair instead. I Dont want to have everything match.

I already picked up some leather straps, about 1' of synthetic fur and a small bag of black feathers.

I now need weapond.. GUNS

Actually, Guns are rare, most everyone (besides Max) uses crossbows and blades.

A shotgun of some sort might work, and a more common semi auto pistol. Wrap the grip in ragsand tie off the trigger guard with some rags. Maybe remove the grips before wrapping it. For the shotgun, I'd say a saw'd off Pump gun.

Got my shot gun in today.. and I immediately began to weather it. I would first like to thank REX for helping me with this process.. I <3 U SO MUCH!!!

Here's the gun as it came in the package... I first sand it down with some steal wool.

First coat of paint applied to the creases

Dry Brush silver paint

Second color applied then wiped off.

Then some more silver paint.. drybrush it in.

close up shots of finished product.. Now I need to get some leather and rags to make it look post apoc.

Heres a pic of my wasteland warrior costume, and the one I made for my Wife.
Insperation was Road Warrior, and the Blood of Heroes.
I used old leather jackets, 2 types of tire, football pads, pretty much anything I could I could scrounge up and rivet down.
If you plan on cutting up a steel belted tire.......good luck.
A dremmel with cutting wheel will do the trick.

I like the Motocross pad look and they make it for the female figure.


The older the better but the new stuff has it's own look.

Finished painting the football shoulder pads... but Im having a hard time keeping them on.. These are youth size.. and they keep falling off.. UGH!! Going to add some spikes to them next then scratch them up a bit.

Not too crazy about the chains.. they look to new..any thoughts on how to weather them down?

I did manage to pick up these awesome used belt and pouches at an army navy store all for under $20 bucks..

i would suggest for the finished product some items to tie into your hair like indian feathers maybe tribal beads on strings on your shoulder pads you should add some paint symbols maybe kill stripes and on your gloves and shorts add small rips in the ends to give a tattered been in the waste land for a while look as for your sport bra i would suggest same with small rips in it oh and fake piercings are good too
