NEED HELP! Wampa Containment Warning Sign idea

You know, I've always wondered WHY the rebels captured the Wampas and stuck them in this room. Doesn't make sense.

I remember seeing the deleted scene once... I think what happened was the Wampa rampaged Echo Base and the rebels lured the Wampas in there and then locked the door behind them.

Why not just shoot them, or use fire or laser blasts to scare them off? It seems kind of cruel to keep them caged up. :confused

If I remember correctly, the sounds that the astro mechs made attached the Wampas to the base. I think it was in the comic of ESB. But I'm not sure.

Ok, well this is my best attempt with the resources available:

C3PO_WAMPA_WARNING.jpg

I think it's close and I'm not attempting the white scrawling across the bottom since clearly there was one without it.

Comments? Ideas? Whatever?

An interest thread will be posted in the Junkyard once I feel the design has reached it's maximum potential. Shirts & magnets will definitely be made available. Signs if the interest is there.

Paper prop for sure.

Dude... Why didn't you post that much clearer screencap earlier??

Also the text above the Red symbol isn't Black. It's the same color Red as the symbol. It's a lighting trick...

The Wampa got into the base and killed a Taun Taun, and the Rebels stunned him and placed him in the room.

When Han goes to check to see if anyone has seen Luke, and then rides out on a Taun Taun, when he enters the room and 2-1B is attending to a dead Taun Taun on the floor it's from the Wampa attack.

Wampas in Echo base was a whole sublplot in the original script.

There is one remnant of dialogue remaining in the finished film reffering to wampas in scene where they first detect the probe droids signal and threepio says "This isn't an Imperial code', someone (Han?) asks if it could be "Another one of those creatures?"

This occurs long before he goes out to look for Luke. So the Rebel had some knowledge of the wampas.

Han, Leia, and C-3po leave Lukes medical room to go to the command bridge because of the Imperial Probe Droid. The comment Han makes about 'those creatures' now seems like the one that attacked Luke, not the ones that entered Echo Base.

Yup. You're right on the timeline.

I'm recalling this from a documentary with a lot of Kirschner.
He said somethign about it being 'earlier' Must have meant an earlier draft of the script not an earlier scene. my bad.

You were right. The Rebels were having more trouble with the Wampas before the probe droid was picked up...

There is a 2-1B droid examining an injured Tauntaun as Han gets on his to go out after Luke. The injured one was attacked by a Wampa in the base (you can also see a big smear of blood on the wall).

Banzai88 - click on chewbaccadoll's name and send him a PM through the board (it's the second thing on the drop down menu).

A little late on this, but the white stuff appears to just be a wide swath of chalk...like what is used commonly in the military to mark doors that have already been checked/buildings that have been searched...

just a thought.
