NEED HELP Military Uniform Buffs HELP!

An ol' crusty retired Marine Gunny helped train my handicap daughter's service dog. Great guy. he trained dogs for the Marine Corps for service in Vietnam in the 60's. Since then has worked dogs for all branches of law enforcement. He had never been exposed to dogs for handicap service and was overwhelmed by my daughters need and a new found demand for his skills.

Normally it can cost $15-20K for the dog he helped us train at no charge. I am eternally indebted to him as he peeled months off the training process. Oddly enough :$ he holds me in great esteem as I picked the Shepherd to be trained and he swears out of all the dogs he trained, and he recalls every one, that mine is the most exceptional.

I recently was able to locate some vintage patches from his old Marine unit and he was thrilled. Dog training units evidently are rather small comparitively and their patches and other memoribilia are rather hard to find.

Today in general conversation, he mentioned that while in service he had worn a " bomber jacket" referred to it as a B17. However it was not leather , but cloth. Sort of a brownish khaki on the exterior with a blaze orange lining that could be reversed for high visibility. I assume from his time in service that it would be a circa 60's 70's article.

I'd like to find one for him in size Large. Any help would be appreciated. I familiar with some bomber jackets but this one eludes me. I would think it would be either Navy or Marine issue but could be from another branch of the service as he trained dogs for use in all branches of the service.

This sounds like what is sometimes called a tanker jacket as they were worn at first by US tank crews in WW2, they look like a cloth version of the M1A1 flight jacket although they do not usually have an orange liner as that was for air rescue purpose

I have done a quick search and this is on Ebay

Oh, and like any good mommy, I have to post a pic of my girl anytime the subject of German Shepards comes up.

It is probably the MA-1 I believe the sage color and pocket arrangement match his description.

Thanks guys. I knew somebody here would nail it pronto.
