Need Halloween Ideas!

I am very... VERY ... stuck when it comes to figuring out a costume I can build for Halloween. Originally, I was going to build an Iron Man costume out of foam, but school and work took over my life and there is no way I can finish it in the allotted time.

I am thinking about building a Spartan (from 300) costume, but I feel like that is going to be overdone by people.

I would like the costume to require some actual cutting and physical work with my hands, bondo, resin, clay, foam, etc... So, I don't really want anything that is completely clothing related, if that makes sense?

If anyone can think of anything at all, please let me know, im dying over here not getting started on something.

Oh, p.s. - I am not really interested in anything too goofy or extremely scary (kinda hard to talk to the ladies when im scaring them off, haha).

Edit 2: I am contemplating the main character from the video game Dante's Inferno!
Edit 3: Well, I figure that Dante might be a little too much work in the time I have. I guess what I will end up doing is mashing a bunch of random pieces together and hope it looks cool, lol!

a possibilies would be any sort of the armored men of Rohan or Gondor from Lotr, u can do the armor itself out of cardstock then resin and fiber glass then bondo, there would probably still b clloth worl though. another idea would be robo sop, no cloth watso ever, but very time consuming i would imagine, or a colonial marine from the aliens series, less hard armor with more cloth, but probably faster, since u have less than a month, watever u pick, good luck, hope to see pics

You could follow steath's arc reactor tutorial and go as tony stark. Just find someway to attach it to a shirt or have hang underneath a shirt like a necklace. Maybe make an Iron Man glove to wear too. Simple and recognizable without being cumbersome.
