Need alien jaws /teeth reference shots!!!

Hey guys! Im redoing my alien head teeth (again) because i wasnt real happy with the ones I made before. They were apparently too widely set to be accurate.

Does anyone have any good reference shots of the original Giger sculpt? I have a few books but they are out of town in storage. Thanks in advance!!

There are several heads too... the "stunt head" from which castings have been made available, has kind of wide spaced teeth

Carlo Rambaldi's animatronic head, has got the CHROMED teeth, plus the shredded condoms (really!) on wires for the "lips"

My understanding was that some of the teeth are SCREWDRIVER BLADES, but somebody should check me on that. I'd love to see a "map" of what the correct teeth would be!

Right on! great shots!
And you're correct about the stunt head being the one all he casts originate from. Lots of work was dont to the mouth for the hero head used for close-up filming. Its my goal to mimic the hero head.

Note how the teeth are configured, with the very long "fangs" on the side, to make sort of a square "hole" through which the teethed "tongue" can push

Lots of info in the Giger book (HR Giger's ALIEN), plus the huge extras on the "Alien" boxed set (I have the DVD one from a few years ago, not sure if the new "Alien Anthology" has got more on the first film).

Possibly some of the teeth on the inner mouth are the screwdriver blades.

Prior to Rambaldi, I think Giger was going for a more shark-teethed look, with sharper points all around

He probably used human teeth on the inner jaw. :0

Great, great stuff so far guys! The more the better

I must say im a little suprised at how large the gums and teeth are in the original sculpt, much larger than the ones I made. The seem so "tucked in" in the hero head when its doing its thing..

Oh and here's where we are so far. Its just an evening of sculpting but im happy with the progress. I plan to flesh out the roof of the mouth as well and give it some interesting details before hitting it with a heat gun and moulding it up.

I just want to be REALLY sure its dead-on before hardening it up.

Thanks! I still need to replace the tubing under the "gland" thing on the side but for now I think im on the right track.

Oh and would anyone like a casting when Im done? the sculpt in in the final stages and I may mould the whole head with the screen accurate teeth if there's a demand.
