Need a quote for a Morrissey mask.

I am going to shoot a short film in Fairmount with James Dean and Morrissey.

Can someone give me a quote for a realistic mask of Morrissey (the singer)?

It won't need hair, but you can quote for it if you want. If you want reference to the look, just look at or for the Suedehead video, shot in Fairmount.

I have someone interested in producing it (financial). We are trying to find a look-a-like, but finding it difficult. A mask would be our back-up plan.

Thanks!

I hope I can pull it off!! Got my James Dean and access to all locations in Fairmount, including the family farm.

DH, I know you have some very solid background in filming. But I still dare to make a suggestion (that you very likely already thought of yourself ;) )
Instead of a mask with a probably very limited range of expressions you might go and look for the whole package i.e. a make-up expert that just changes the look of an actor with a few prosthetics and a good make-up. Heck, he´s looking like a really regular joe to me. It would be way easier to make someone look like Willem Dafoe than Morrissey.

I don´t know if you have seen "Watchmen", but Nixon´s "mask" was so hideous and cheesy (maybe intended to look so, you never know), it made the scenes with him hardly watchable for me.
Then go look at the pic "I´m not there" where several actors play the part of Bob Dylan and don´t look nothing like him but transport the essence that the character needs to bring across.

I say take some artistic freedom in your choice of actors. A "close enough" good actor is in my opinion way better than an excellent actor in a mask.

That is, if he isn´t just an extra that has no lines and is only seen from far away ;)

I am curious to what you choose to do in the end.

Thanks for the input Michael! It is appreciated!

What I am trying to do is very simple, no dialog really. The Morrissey character would be in the background most of the shots, and in a car in the end shots. Total running time is about 5 minutes or so.

I too think I can pull off a look-a-like especially with the right clothes. My producer (the money person and big Morrissey fan) wanted to me explore the mask option and since we have so much talent here, I thought I'd at least give it a shot!

I am doing this for my reel, he wants to send it to Moz.

That was a good one!!! you can throw in Gary Busey also maybe!!!

George lucas put another actor that sorta looked like Tarkin in Revenge of the sith.

They just used a couple of simple prostetics for him and he looked great.

Snyder asked Miles Teves, the artist who created the old age and character prosthetics for the film, specifically to make them caricatured. No clue if it was meant as a stylistic expression or simply to make them read better on film, but it most definitely hurt the Nixon makeup.
