Maybe I'm just not seeing the spacing difference you are but maybe it's there. As far as the number of dots across wasn't it being discussed above about the tie possibly being wider than normal, was that ever determined at all anywhere?
I spend some time last week studying the Invasion Tie, but just can't get enough detail from the little visuals that are available... not sure how to proceed with this one.
Given that it's more of a passion project at this point, coupled with the fact that virtually no one actually knows what it actually looks like or who makes it, I think a repeating pattern with whatever discovered is more than good enough for most people who already have 14 other ties to go with. To most it would be something to finish out the set as most people who do this episode go for the pajamas and robe. I'd be more than up for your best shot.
Is it possible to create the sunflower? from what is visible and then more or less repeat it? I thought it looked like that but with the upper and lower petal shape flipped from eachother, some of the side details are visible though maybe not clear...don't know what looking at it too and why it may not be possible to make it 100% true to the original without a look at it a decent match to what can be seen would be nice.

Ok, I've been working like crazy to make sense of the little information we have for the Christmas Invasion Tie. Here is the final pattern I've worked out. This will be a dark brown woven onto a golden brown silk. I managed to get my design to repeat so it should be able to be tied and worn the way we see it in the episode (with the little "wheat" shape on the knot with the main flower just below the knot).

The pattern looks great, and i've just been looking over every screencap I could find to compare it to, so that's more than bloody brilliant Magnoli, good job.
The only thing I could suggest is the brown might be a bit warmer? Credit to Kaitou for the image but I definitely don't think the brown is that light

Edit: While I was looking at screenshots and typing, Kaitou actually replied. I think it should be blue or navy too, that way it keeps "continuity" in a way.

I'm looking at every photo I've got and I don't see a drop of blue. For coloring, scroll back up to post 1678 and look at the Reunion Swatch. Although we'll be changing the colors for that particular tie, I think those two browns would work very well on this Invasion Tie...
