NBC's The Cape - destined to fail?

Let me start by saying that TV is a better place when Summer Glau is on a regular series. But after reading about her new show "The Cape", I'm thinking I'll have to go back to praying for Terminator:SCC to be brought back.

The Cape

Seems too contrived: A cop fakes his death and even his wife and kid think he's dead while he takes to the streets as his son's favorite comic book character "The Cape". Trained by circus theives and befriended by a sexy blogger... yawn.

I'll give it a few watches but I don't know...

Your thoughts?

I just hope Summer makes her first appearance naked as she always does (TSCC, Firefly, Superman/Batman Apocalypse). ;)

Meh.

Was hoping it would be a decent American version of Cape Wrath. Or perhaps, ideally, a continuation with the original cast. That show had potential.

I'm not expecting the show to be great or to pull in great viewing numbers but I guess I still have hope it'll be half decent. It can't be worse than Heroes was (after the first season anyway)... well, actually, I suppose it could be worse but they'd have to work pretty hard to make it as bad as season 2 of Heroes.

Did anyone read this? It's brilliant. Sadly I think the tv show doesn't follow anything like it.

Seriously, the ending was superb.

You are so right! I was just at Barnes And Noble, and read through this. Very inspiring work. The clips we have seen of the upcoming show sadly do not look like they are going to follow it:cry
