NBC Late night shake up.

Leno QUIT The Tonight Show and NBC offered him the earlier time slot and he took it.

He didn't quit, he was told he had to go/pushed out years ago to offer the slot to Conan, who was about to leave and go elsewhere. Then the time came for him to leave and they were afraid Leno (who was still top of his game by some people option/ratings) would then jump to Fox and beat Conan in the same time slot.

It's basically a no win situation for everyone, including CBS/Letterman. One of them will almost certainly jump to Fox and then the numbers will split 3 ways at 11:35.

Actually, Jay DID start the Top Gear America last year, but the episodes didn't test very well, (I think because of the other people that they had on board... Adam Carrolla, really???) so they have never seen the light of day.
