National Treasure

Finally found a wallet that I liked. Not 100% but passable.

Somewhere around there was a link with the original book to put in the cover of Riley Pools Templer Book. Can anybody help out or give me the link?!?

Or sizes???

Anything new about the Riley Poole Book?!?

Because there is not much progress, I thought about to purchase a screenused book, but the cheap version is just the cover glues to a wooden plate, what looks like a book...

The 2nd version with the complete cover, even the inner parts is $160 more than just the wood piece... I think to own one of these pieces is pretty nice, but if I can decide, the "real" book would be cooler...

Anyone have this project still on his desk?!?

Donations?!? :lol:lol:lol

Yes. The book is going to be offered up soon. I am just waiting for the scan of it. Then I will clean it up and do a run of the covers.

* Pitches tent * First in line.. I'm spewing someone sniped me on the Gates Wallet stuffers recently.. Really need to get them, oh and a wallet..

So, no need for the screensued one?!? :lol

According to Ross MacDonald (creator of several paper props in NT2), the Riley Poole screen used books are mostly wooden plates, like you stated, or remaindered books with the Riley Poole Templar Treasure dust jacket placed over it to make them look like real books. But there are 3 books that are HERO props made by Ross MacDonald (Ross put 6-8 pages into the HERO props that we see the actors read during the movie). These HERO pages however consists of some photos and mostly dummy text (which are from Ronald Reagan's inauguration speech.) So in my opinion, it's not worth buying the screen used ones unless you like screen used HERO props that much. I personally rather own a replica prop that is more "movie accurate" that I can actually read and enjoy. I like to be able to interact with my book props. But that's just me. ;)

And yes, I heard that a few members on this forum are currently working on a replica of the Riley Poole book, so hopefully things go well and some copies will be up for sale.

When do you think the Riley Poole replica will be offered on here? I've been wanting to get one for awhile now. The Riley Poole book will be like a "real", readable book right? Not just like a HERO prop? Also, do you know the estimated cost of the book? Like the range of what the cost will be in? Hopefully not too expensive as I am on a fairly low budget right now. :)

I am not sure. There are a couple of members that are working on a "real" book just like you saw in the movie with real pages that look screen accurate. I have a scan that I am cleaning up but the member that sent it to me may be selling a few of the "rough" scans soon.

Hopefully soon...

A cover would be enough for me, but of course if some replica pages were inside that would be more awesome...

Let's see what happens...

I ordered some of these covers from Droidboy. I'll let it know how they turn out to be...

Here's my attempt at the page from Riley's book, The Templar Treasure. I've seen pics of the hero two page spread made by Ross McDonald so using those as a reference, I tried to match the font and page layout. Ross' hero version actually uses text from Reagan's inauguration speech so I decided to use my own invented text relevant to the chapter.

In case anyone's interested, you can download the PDF here: Netload Serious Filehosting - Netload

Print the page on A3 and then just cut it down to size. It should be 8.75" (h) and 12" (w).
