National Treasure props- list, show off, and discussion

Re: My National Treasure props

I changed the first post to just a list of N.T. prop resources and nothing else.

Re: My National Treasure props

So far I got:

The Grey plastic inner tube

The Washington medallion

The ring box. Not 100% but very cool. The leather on the top is not the same but displaying it open with the medallion displayed you won't even see it. Getting rid of the gold stripe would be nice but for $3 it's just fine

Ben's notebook-Actually very nice little notebook.

$1 from his Grandpa

Magnoli DOI and Masonic medallion plus Tripoli Occular devices are all on the way along with JFK assasination paper.

Re: My National Treasure props

How about some pics already...enough telling, I WANT SHOWING. ;)

Re: My National Treasure props

My new master for the plank is done.
Some new details have been added!!

I'll be getting pics up at the end of the week, and will possibly start a new interest thread, just so you know ;)

Re: My National Treasure props

Just a bit further to go on these, have a few going out in the next day or so for board members here including Jameth1971. I copied the Declaration on parchment for this group, seen under the glasses. The print outs are exactly from the National Archive files of scans of the Declaration full size, now and from an itaglio copied print condition. Had just enough extra parchment to do the project as an extra.

The back of the glasses frames should be finished tomorrow or this weekend. There is quite a bit of metal work involved to create the the frames side ear pieces, so they are going on last with this batch.

Beautiful work on the glasses and parchments tripoli. Your National Treasure glasses are definitely on my "want list". (So many props, so little money...) :lol

Re: My National Treasure props

Got my Tripoli Occular devices and two DOI and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredible work.

I'm having some camera trouble but I think I got it fixed and should be able to post pics tomorrow.

Re: My National Treasure props

I have updated the first post including the link to Taz's new offering of the next Abigale coin. Just FYI

Re: My National Treasure props

I received my Tripoli's Occular devices and two DOI! It is FANTASTIC!!!!

Re: My National Treasure props

Happy to be able supply you with the glasses and the extra bonus of the DOI's. I have sent them to Germany, Italy and Scotland now as well as a few in the US, nice to get a few out overseas. I do have another set half way made if anyone out there is interested in getting a pair.

Re: My National Treasure props

Inspired by fellow member Mr. THX I spent a lot of time today becoming an expert in Booth's Deringer. And yes it is spelled with only one r and not the two that is commonly and incorrectly used in many cases. See how much I learned.

Anywho here is the skinny

Booth's real gun now at Ford's Theatre

A very reasonbly priced replica

A real firing but more expensive kit

The most accurate Replica from several decades ago but can still be found on various gun auction sites

And Real ones for several thousand dollars also pop up from time to time.

I have posted links to all these along with prices in the first post of the this thread.

None are dead on. The engraving plates are diffferent and none of the replicas have the wood handles carved but still pretty cool.

Re: My National Treasure props

It's a shame none of the replica guns available are spot on for anyone interested in one for their collection! I am sure someone on these boards could make a much better job!!!! I know RelicMaker could totally nail this! But I guess it's one of those props that could be a bit controversial to some...
