Hi gang,
Been a while, but I'm happy to be back in my home studio and am ready to crank out my next project, the second Olmec Plank seen only in picture form in the Book of Secrets.

What makes this fun, is that the back of the plank will have light fire damage, and the fan-fic idea of it being rescued by a wary White House cleaning lady, thus giving us the oppurtuniy of having a complete City of gold map.

This will fit into the previous plank I created, which has also been tweaked a bit to accompany this plank, in case anyone wants to pick up both once these are done (a new mold has to be made)!

I look forward to getting more updates through the weekend, and I'll be casting this up sometime next week.

Follow along, and enjoy!!

I've started with a foam core center, and have added the chavant scuplting on top, getting my woodgrain and dried out cracks layed out and ready to go. I'll begin the glyphs tomorrow. Once the gyplhs are on, I'll cast the top, and complete the sculpting on the sides and back.

Awesome. Looking forward to this project. I have been wanting the original plank for sometime to go with my Presidents Book of Secrets.

Will be watching with great interest.

Fantastic!!! You already know, I want it :D

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

You'll relase also the first plank?

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

Yep, both will be released. A few folks missed the last run.

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

Perfect, I'll be in for both plank! ;)

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

Update:

Glyphs get sized and spaced, then filled and sculpted.

Once scuplted, with little spliting details, etc, then the carved image goes in. Should have the top and sides done tomorrow. Once finshed, the clay will get a bit of "alcohol sanding" for a smooth, aged finish like the first plank. Then into silicone it goes!

Glad you guys are happy to see this getting done!Looking forward to offering it!

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

This is indeed awesome. I'll 100% be after one for my NT display when they hit the junkyard.....it's a must!:cool:thumbsup

Re: National Treasure 2: The 'Lost Olmec Plank'

Top's all done, sides just about there. Once they are, I'll do a bit more smoothing out, and a little more tweaking, then casting time. Looking forward to getting one painted and both together so you can see the cool factor on these together!!!
