I'd like to get a bow, but somehow that would be pushing it. Not sure what prices they are is the US, but here, a basic black compound starts at over $300. And I don't know f I could even find the proper bow. Is it a "Hoyts"?
You can see the difference between the UC HIBBEN IV and the supposed licensed MC replica. This must be a version II of the MC R4s because the You-Tube video I saw showing the differences between the UC HIBBEN IV and the MC R4 showed the knife as slightly smaller than the one I have. This thing (because of the handle) is massive. The UC HIBBEN IV is a much better made knife that looks like it has been forged from a leaf spring where the MC looks like it was probably machined - the handle is just too straight considering the curve of the blade from "forging".
RAMBO I - IV
I really need to make a display for these.
Just out of curiosity, did either of these every make the silver screen?
These are both GERBER knives when they were made in the USA. The top is a series 1 LMF I bought in 1988 (notice the grind starts at the back edge where later versions started half way on the blade) and the bottom is a MKI I was given around the same time. When I was given it, the previous owner said to me that the next time he sees it, it has to be sharp enough to shave - and it is, just never caught up with the guy since.
Love the Rambo blades, my personal favorite will always be the Lille First Blood knife. I am a big Indiana Jones fan & the UC licenced IJ machete is only a loosely stylised version of the ToD weapon from the bridge scene. I have the Todds Costumes version which IMHO is far more screen accurate. Link here: http://www.toddscostumes.com/costum...iana-jones-props/indiana-jones-sword-machete/
I will try post pics of mine I have around somewhere...
