My take on a Steampunk Sonic Screwdriver

Take a River Song Future sonic toy, gut it, add a fluted aluminium body from a torch, a brass lamp finial, a brass effect 'horn' from a small gramophone ornament, an acrylic hair lightener lid, some brass stock, whisk lightly, and VOILA:

It also goes from blue to red:

and the green LED as an 'overload' warning on the back:

The two turned brass buttons activate the lights and sound, and swithch between blue and red, and activate the geen flashing LED.

Very cool as sonic screwdrivers go, this is a beautiful prop and I'd love to see something like this on the show. It looks much more like the original than what they have been using. But I don't see what makes it steampunk ?

Beautiful item (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Of course the original (Patrick Troughton's) was just a pen light.

I think this one is a really cool design.
I like the classic look to it. Plus the steampunk aspect of it.

Thanks, glad you like it!

I like to think the brass finial and the brass effect gramophone horn make it at least a little steampunk- the horn is a bit of a visual pun, it being 'sonic' and all..!
