My Stormtrooper Costume from 1979 When I Was 10 years old

Nice. I did a similar thing with a Don Post Darth Vader helmet. Made a costume(not nearly as nice as yours, actually), stood in line for Empire wearing said costume (several hundred people ahead and behind), paid my money and went in. While I was in line for popcorn, the manager tapped me on the shoulder, handed me my money back and said, 'You don't have to pay anymore... just wear the costume and you get in free.' I saw Empire 4 times every Sunday for it's entire run. I tweaked the costume a bit for Return, and the manager gave me the same deal. I was one happy 14 year old

I still have the Don Post Vader mask, and spiffing it up is on my project list. I'll post a thread on the fix-up when I do it.

Again, nice trooper costume.

Moms are amazing! Yours is one step up from that! You must have been feeling pretty good that day. I love seeing pics from that time period. To have been a kid in the 1970's...priceless!

Totally awesome story, pics, and costume! As one who had his Mom help him make a rather cool but not accurate Vader early on, I'm adding to the sentiment that you need to give Mom extra kudos! I'm so glad I inherited a few of my mom's skills and have three little ones to help foster that imagination spirit.
