My Stormtrooper Costume from 1979 When I Was 10 years old

OhhhhhhhhhMAN!

I don't know how many nights I lay awake thinking about trying to do something just like that. Your Mom is awesome!

Thanks for all the great compliments everyone. I've been showing my mom all the great feedback and my mom is practically in tears. It seems like besides myself she's getting the recognition she's long overdue for. :) love ya mom!

And you know what? Your Mom deserves every bit of it! Not only for the day, the obvious love, talent and ingenuity she put into those costumes is fantastic. Like others said, she was not some "prop-head" on a forum, with the power of the internet at her hands, she was (and still is) a talented Mom who loved her child. Many, many kudos.

Get her on board here!!

Ah yes! Back in the day when it was OK to bring a blaster to school! I miss those days! No thanks to all the post 1990s crazies that took that right away from our kids!!!

Nicely done! Good form! Pirates Vs. TKs

Wow, brings back memories for me.
I tried making one out of construction paper and poster board in '79 as well.

Yeah, totally didn't work.

Your Mom did a awesome job!

Your mom did a fantastic job! And you totally sold the look! Even today that would be a great costume that any kid would be proud to wear to school. Great job mom! Keep up the good work! :)

I think it is official now. Your mother can wear a shirt saying I ROCK.

The other kids just look destroyed at how awesome your outfit is.

Your mom is amazing and should feel amazing.

Man, I wish my school had let us come to class in costume.

This is a follow up thread from my Batman costume. This is for my Stormtrooper costume when I was 10 in 1979. My mom made this costume by sewing poster board to vinyl giving it that plastic look. Pretty awesome for its day. The helmet is the first Don Post trooper helmet with the GREEN lenses which I still have today.
