My Star Wars Prop Room/ Home Office

Here is a small video of the Stormtrooper, Jawa, and Ewok talking to each other.

Hi all.

I have been wanting to post images to my collection for a while now but I did not feel revealing it till now was appropriate. Truth is, that even though I have been collecting since 1995, over the past ten years, my collection has suffered due to lack of direction. During that time I went off track doing SG1 offworld uniform and NuBSG Flightsuit. Also I tended to pick up items that I call "flavor of the month". These are items that a popular due to recent release of a movie or TV show. I have since sold off a great deal of non-star wars items and reinvested in my SW collection. I have kept a few items for now, such as the complete SG-1 and BSG costumes mentioned above, Enterprise jumpsuit, Sidkit Firefly pistol and belt, and a few Trek items. The Hobbit and LOTR and a few other items in the home are my Wife's. All reside on display in other areas of the house.

The real challenge has been finding SW prop replicas that are not common licensed products but items that tend to be unique yet well made. I have augmented the display with statues and toys that I feel were interesting enough to display rather than stash away with other SW collectibles I have.

My room represents a great potion of my Star Wars props. I have several other costumes and components that are not currently on display (X-Wing pilot, Luke Bespin, Luke Jedi, OBi Wan TPM). I also have some rank and other badges that I need to find a nice way to display. I also really want to revamp the room. The big change would be to remove the desk and computer items to another room which would serve as a library in the home. I would like to replace the desk with a wall of selves to display the individually enclosed display pieces (MR/EFX type). I would like to replace the two cabinets with glass display cases so that all items that would be contained could be easily seen. I Would also like to add a grid wall to the wall with only art. This would be a good way to display the Reble rifle, Fett rifle, and gaffi stick.

Lastly, I also want to state that I know my collection is humble. I have seen a lot of great collectibles and collection rooms here but I still hope you enjoy the following images.

Great collection. I like the wine rack/saber display. Something a little different going on there. Thanks for sharing.

I cannot take credit for that. The wine rack idea was the idea of a member called Amber Padawan Learner back around 1999.

I thinned out my Saber collection over the years. Here you can see another use of the wine rack concept that I utilized years ago.

dude! you just blew my mind... I am extremely jealous, words cannot describe the awesomeness of your collection

Hi there,

well to quote a certain SW villain : "Impressive . . . most impressive ..."

-Chaim

Thank you all.

By the way. I want to point out a particular item in my collection. It actually predates ANH by three years. You will note a Yellow plush dog among some of the other plush items. That is Henry, a very popular plush animal in the early 70's. I got him in 1974 when I was 5. A few years ago Build-A-Bear came out with Star Wars costume clothing. I welcomed the opportunity to be able to include my life long companion into my SW collection by dressing him in Jedi robes.

Another item I would like to note is the Mara Jade Lightsaber located in one of the wine racks in the cabinet. That is one of five made by Jeff Parks after he made the one for the CCG (the first time that design was ever used). Those were done under the radar. Later he did sell a variant (and still does today on the website) but when he went public with it, he made minor changes. I also have the original blue blade just like the original ( purple effects was added after and at the time, it was not possible to do purple FX blades or at least not economically feasible). You will also not the MR version in my collection as well as another Parks custom made with purple blade in the FX rack.

For this replica, I made up a COA and sent it to Park. Not only did he sign it, he had Timothy Zahn (MJ's creator) and Shannon Baksa (the model who portrayed MJ in the CCG with the saber in hand) sign the COA as well.

Another item I pride in my collection is the Jawa. I have had him for about 13 years now. It was a limited run from Tom Spina (aka wampa1 from the old board). It's cool to point to that VW Cantina commercial, turn to my kids and say, "The guy who did those costumes and props for that commercial, made my Jawa.

Stunning collection.

Can I ask what that is you're using to display the MR sabres? Looks like a pool cue rack?

So THAT´s what you call a humble collection?????...yeah sure ;)

Great stuff you have there :thumbsup

Markus

That is a great collection, you have some nice pieces, there are a few you have that I regret never picking up. Must be nice to have all these cool things in your office.

Ha, I didn't see him. Yes, I had Henry too as a kid. I took him every where, but he's long gone now. :cry

Thank you all.

Very cool! I'm still kicking myself for not getting the MR Jango blasters...

I missed out on the MR Fett Helmet. I caved last summer when I noticed the going price drop on them on Ebay. Still not cheap.

However you never know about some MR items. I picked up LE Qui and LE Luke ANH cheap because they did not sell as well and the retailer was cleaning out his stock.

I picked up the Leia blaster pretty cheap as it was a replacement from MR a retailer had and they did not have the plaque, documents or the clear part of the case. I picked up the Fett rifle second hand for a good deal because it was the blaster only. The eFx ROTS Clone helmet was also without documents and stand but was a great deal.

Most of those items, I liked but was not originally interested in at full price. I ended up buying because of a great deal.

Is it even possible to work in that "office"?

Play? Yes.

Office work? I think not!! :p

Very nice collection, MJF!!

For years I wanted to give my Jawa sound but never wanted to spend the money on a custom soundboard. Instead, I took an old Ipod Shuffle and a decent speaker and tucked in out of site. I used the sound files from the StarWars.com soundboards. Later when I set up the Trooper, I added sounds to the same system. Each sound byte is serate so I simply set the Ipod to shuffle for random clips. I recently adde the Ewok to the display, so I still need to add Ewok sounds.

Here it is...
