My ROTJ Vader display stand

I bought the Rubies $55 Deluxe Vader helmet and I am "OK" with it for now until I can get a good reveal helmet.

Anyway, I wanted a unique display for this helmet and I just picked up an all metal ROTJ Vader saber as well.

I got a metal helmet stand off Ebay and added the "hooks" which are actually wall peg hooks. It came out pretty decent I think...

very cool, I am having the same problem with the tilting of the dome on mine, Its still an awesome piece for the price. The stand looks great

Looks great Jedifyfe! I also have this Vader helmet w/ a rebuilt MR ESB saber and was thinking of a display similar to this. Any chance you could PM that auction link to me?

The Rubies helmet can actually be nicely modded... it's a lot of work of course. It's a lot of reshaping, sculpting, sanding and painting... but it's actually a lot of fun to do if you have the time.

Are there better looking options out there for the lenses and mesh parts over the mouth area? I don't have the time right now for a full overhaul on mine, but I won't be happy unless I've tinkered with it at least a little bit...

Well, for the mesh I used a truck filter that I just picked up from Walmart, cut it and painted it black. The lenses are a problem though if you don't have time. Most of the lenses out there fit in from behind that requires cutting and resculpting the eyes. For a quick fix there are these:

I've never used them though, so I cannot attest to anything about them.

I'd really consider fixing the neck flare too. A lot of people have luck with boiling or heat guns. I used a mini torch... but that does require removing and replacing the padding... which is messy and time consuming.

Once you start though... consume you it will... you'll want to start fixing everything. I'm tempted to get a new one and use what I learned to do a much better job on the next one. Sure I could get a better helmet... but that's less work.
