My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival : The Godfather

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - Green Lantern & X-Files

Ring stand photos look great! And yes they're really hard to capture, much better in person :cool

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - Stargate

Howzat :cool ?

Almost there. Would it be possible to colour it with Tea? it need a little more yellowing. Think that its been in Ronan's sweaty hand for years. On the wiki it says its suppost to be made from braided wraith hair.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - Green Lantern & X-Files

Well, maybe this Wraith used Head & Shoulders :lol

But I think if I weathered it any more, I would also have to weather the gun for it to keep in overall synch look. As it is now, the 'contrast' is in balance :thumbsup

However, I will give it a try on a little bit on the back part which is against the wall, to see how it would look :)

EDIT - Also, the grip is in fact dirtier than it looks. The artificial lighting made it look 'cleaner'.

Just took a pic of it in natural light to show what I mean

What I had done was not weather the braid itself, but my own hand, and then gripped the gun and rubbed it in at where my hand caused the most pressure points naturally.

Took me 5 minutes of scrubbing to get my hand clean after that :lol

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - 2001 ASO

Picked me up a kit of Hal 9000 from '2001 - A Space Odyssey', and finished it today.

Whereas I wanted the rim etc to look like aluminium, after reading AP 333's great build of Hal, where through extensive research it was shown that the black panel in fact had wood-grain marks, I wanted to achieve the same effect and not have it look smooth like a sheet of metal.

Through a 'dangerous' :lol technique that could have gone terribly wrong but thankfully didn't, I think I managed to nail it :)

Thanks again to AP 333 for the lens print :thumbsup

Furthermore, and as those who know me are aware, although electronics are NOT my friend, I even managed to get him to light up with a whopping big 9V battery, resistor and all :lol

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - 2001 ASO

Very nice work Alan! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup I envy your skills and ingenuity. I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey a couple of weeks ago myself and had been thinking about adding a HAL 9000 to my own collection. Yours looks amazing! Keep up the inspiring work man. :cheers

Thanks popsprops :thumbsup

------------------------------

I picked me up this Auryn from 'The Neverending Story' recently.

aurynorig.jpg

However, the colour was (too) wrong, and there is no ring on the real prop.

So when I got it, I cut off the ring, sanded the tips down to shape, and gave it a total repaint.

Here is a picture of the result. First in artificial, then in natural light.

Much better I think :)

Now to find me a chain ...... and then a frame :lol

First of all, and to continue where I left off the Auryn, I decided no chain ... yes frame :lol

Here it is, put in good company.

I had some film left over from the dinosaur age in the garage, so put it to good use :lol

Everything looks awesome man. :thumbsup And I'd love to see pictures of your 'that' after you get it too. (You know, ''the replica we don't speak of''. :lol) By the way, nice touch putting the film in the reel.)

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - Ghostbusters & Other Deco.

This is a very awesome collection! Just all around great stuff. Man, I keep seeing ghostbuster props surfacing, and the bug keeps trying to bite me... I think if I end up doing a second franchise, that may be the one.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - Ghostbusters & Other Deco.

Fantastic collection!!! Those Ecto-Goggles look amazing....love the way you've displayed all your items.
