My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival : The Godfather

The Mrs. & I are about to start on season 3 of “Lost”, never having the series before.
Saying we are hooked is putting it mildly !
As an initial tribute, I got me the Mcfarlane Hatch Diorama, which depicts the season 1 finale cliffhanger.
Some screen caps
The model itself is insanely detailed (so tons of pics later) and captures that memorable scene, as well as the characters, like magic; but, IMHO, the diorama has one teenie-weenie flaw.
While the backdrop provided is mega-cool with the appropriate ‘jungle theme’, the back of it is just plain white with the plastic supports that stick out like a sore thumb.
It’s cool to display in an ‘enclosure’, but as a stand-alone, again IMHO, it really detracts from viewing enjoyment of the model itself …… especially since I have no enclosures :lol

No worries :lol
I went to my local garden center and bought me hard sponge along with a few synthetic flower thingies.
I cut the sponge to form a semi-circle around the base of the backdrop (and chopped all the leaf thingies to bits :lol)
After some experiments in flower arrangement (go figure I’d pick that up too for the hobby :lol), here is the result, which I think really enhances the model quite a bit
The Hatch also lights up, and looks OK even during the daytime.
But of course, it really pops out at night :cool
Instead of the usual single shot to show a location in the room, I thought I’d give you a 360 degree view for this one

As a fan of Lost, I would recommend that you play a video game called Lost: Via Domus. Its a beautiful game that lets you role-play on the island and explore it!

I really like the way this turned out, and it 'feels' great next to the Jumanji box
Not a big fan of video games, but I'll definitely look into getting this one once we finish the series (lest there be any spoilers).

To this day, there are still SO many things in your collection that makes me jealous. It's collections like this that have kept me away from the forum for a while whilst my collection is on hold due to lack of funds. I've found it best to just avoid looking at what I can't have. In saying that though, you've got me a bit motivated to start working on the prop room in my new house (any entire collection is in boxes or still in my room at mum and dads). So, not an overly disappointing visit to the forum tonight.
But I want that bat mobile.
