Like the title says, here's my scratch built, Ghostbusters full-sized Proton Pack.
Copied from my page on GBfans.
This is after most of the main parts were attached to the mother board, except the spacer.
It was just dry fitted for the picture.
Here it was nearly completed. I don't have many progress pics as I had to work a lot during its construction which took me nearly 2 months.
The lighting is just just cheap, battery operated Halloween lights.
Here it is nearly completed with some cheap dollar store USB cables for the various colored, wiring.
Completed pack lit up along with the Nuetrona Wand / Particle Thrower, also made from cardboard.
The lighting inside the wand is just a cheap dollar store LED-type 'push lamp' activated with a micro switch.
The other micro switches are just for looks.
Close-up of the Nuetrona Wand, itself. The other lights on the top of it are just cut up glue sticks and used like pipe lighting.
Despite some of the inaccuracies, I'm happy with the way it came out.
Total cost for all the parts including paint was around $120.00.
Labels were all printed out from GBfans.
The total weight of the proton pack is around 9 pounds or so, since its mostly hollow.
Here's me in full gear for Halloween 2015.
I had attended a huge street party in Hollywood, Florida and ended up winning $600 for third place in the "Best Overall costume" category.
I was also photographed by at least a hundred people that night. My costume consisted of an authentic Tru-Spec flight suit, military style boots,
dyed elbow pads, 'no ghost' logo patch, white pistol belt, black, chemical gloves, and a homemade name tag that read "Spengler" in memorial of Harold Ramis.
The ecto goggles were also made by me from a pair of welding goggles, paint, and some PVC pipe fittings.
The ecto goggles also light up to add the extra "wow" factor, even though its not considered GB canon.
