My Own Take on Mr. Freeze

Ive wanted to do my own Mr Freeze costume for quite a while now, my own take on it to bring it into reality so it look plausible. I want to mix the cartoon, comic, and video game looks together to bring to life a worthy amalgamation.

so far I have the basic sketched out look of it

and work on sizing up the collar piece

im going to try to build all the largest parts out of foam, Ive not really work with foam before on this large of a scale and Id love any help or to be pointed in the right direction for anything I need to know about it.

If u have never seen a Freeze costume before search on here... there are a few builds (mine included..... altho not continuing it right now) ... and google imahe search Mr Freeze cosplay and there are some theretoo

hummmm if you find the plexu shapes for the helmet i hope you will tell us where you find it ^^

The sketch looks good can't wai to see more pics of your build. MR freeze is one of my favorite bad guy ^^

the dome is pretty much the one part of the costume that I know will cause me the most trouble, I may have to vac-form it, or luck out and find something that I can use. Ive seen a lot of Mr Freeze's with found object domes and they just dont work for me, I want the Cartoon and comic look with the straight sides.

Knightfalcon got one with the long straight sides and I used a plant cloche and modified it to havin straight sides

have the rough collar fitted together, getting the scale right.

and quicky put together

now my question is, what is the best glue for doing foam? something that doesn't stink to high heaven and sets relatively fast i hope. Any suggestions on what to use?

picked up some contact cement from Home Depot today and a few varieties of craft foam from Michael's, yay discount codes, and hopefully I can start adding some more to the chest piece

Tested the glue and it worked great, tried it with different kinds of foam from Michael's and it works amazingly well.

I got my dome from Morgandepot.com The service and shipping was excellent. I would have gotten a cloche, but in my area I could not find one large enough, and, to order, I would have to buy a pack of 5 for $40. So I just went with the $50 dome of better quality, although it is glass (that's not too big of a deal though).

This is looking awesome! My original plan was to do something along these lines, but I decided the comic route instead. Your seams and everything look great.

One problem is that you need to KNOW the exact dimensions of the dome so that it will fit snug and perfectly. I would hate for you to have a hard time re-modifying it for the dome (I had to do that).

Good luck! I really like it so far.

thanks Knight Falcon, Ive got the dimension down pretty good, the dome attaches to an undersuit that ill wear so the parts im working on right now shouldn't have any issues.

Ive got a bit more done on it, exams slowing me down a tad, but I added a bit more small details and the front grill.

Your foam skills look very honed. I tend to hack and slash lol.

I can't wait to see more! At this pace you'll probably beat me, and I've been slowly working on mine for about 4 months!

haha thanks man ;D, I have sort of a schedule I need to follow, trying to get it done by August for Fan Expo, or sooner.

sorry about the lack of updates, finishing school stuff up, passed all my courses, now im a certified millwright WOO!

more work on the torso, I descided to not have it all one fixed piece because i want to be able to move my shoulders around, and I think in the real world if Mr Freeze existed he would be able too also.

nice front shot of what I have done so far, I kinda color coded the parts, white is the shoulders, and blue is the back piece, orange is the front obviously

and last but not least, the beauty shot, I think it had a really nice look to it all so far, and its NOT EVEN close to being done.
