My Office/Prop Room/Museum......Pics!!!

That darth vader lifesize is SO UGLY! The only thing to do is ship him to me as a gift. :lol:lol:lol

No, seriously, that room is amazing. I'd like to know more about how exactly you mounted the ships on the wall, and how they are secure on both the model and the wall?

thanks guys, it's truly a labor of love. Yes I am just about to capacity for this little museum but as far as upgrades..............I don't ever see those ending. What would I freaking do if I couldn't upgrade??? LOL

The wall mounts are simply panavise CCTV mounts. They use a 1/4" camera mount so all you have to do is epoxy in a threaded 1/4" tube into your model, the base of the panavise arm is screwed into a stud in the wall and is very very secure. I buy little threaded inserts that have jagged ribs on the outside.......this epoxy's quite well in the model. I wanted to avoid "sag" on the xwing nose as it's hollow resin on mine....so I took a very long threaded tube and ran that from the nose of the Xwing to the mounting point at the rear.....epoxied both ends in place and have a very strong model with nice mounting access as a result.

R2 was done in stages over 3 years. I got the base parts, body tube, skin leg bases and two part laser cut dome first. Then each detail part was purchased in separate runs over at the r2builders website. Those guys are amazing as they all use the same 100% accurate blueprints to make their parts. The blueprints were drafted using a screen used R2. You have to wait for each run of different parts, but it's so worth it as you can see. I need to make a few minor tweaks on R2 but overall I'm 99% happy with him. :) I doubt I have more than 3K in the entire project.

Dave :)

Here are a couple new shots of Chewie, altered the eye placement and direction and replaced the stock teeth with dental lab dentures. :) My lab lady was freaking out!!!!

Because he has this bladder problem and leaks oil all over the carpet if he doesn't. LOL. yes I'm awaiting some screen accurate pants and when they Arrive, they'll get the vacmetalized treatment. Then he will look like he's not a geriatric droid. Wait, he is a geriatric droid!!!!

Haha. I was thinking" Why does 3p0 look like Erkel. lol Great display, wonderful items...just fantastic. I love the way they are displayed, tasteful and not cluttered. It's a hard thing to pull off having a large display without it looking , well for lack of a better term, a kids room. You have done this just perfectly. I've always struggled with displaying my props. This is very very cool. I"m not sure I'd get much work done in there ! :lol

The Chewie is an outstanding addition to your already impressive Star Wars museum collection.:thumbsup

You should have some hands made for Obi Wan as it would really finish him off nicely.

Thanks gents. I'm proud of Chewie. I am awaiting a bowcaster and replacement large bandolier boxes. Once those arrive I can call him done. :)

I have some latex hands for Obi that I have to paint first. They will then slip right over the mannequin hands like gloves. I'll post new pics when that happens. :)

Again one awesome adition to your collection Dave. The Chewie looks ultracool. But now you have to add a lifesize Han also. Chewie and his friend simply belong together:thumbsup

And once you do Han you have to complete the set with a Luke and a Leia.

The new dentures are impressive!

I'm gonna hold off on the 3 main characters as I have not been impressed with how they've been done in the past. I don't have room for them and it would be a waste of time to turn around and sell them for that reason. If I do anymore characters it will be an ESB Boba Fett. I'd half way consider doing a 1:1 Han Carbonite, but again, lots of space needed and I'm out. I really want to fill the small wall spaces with Studio models and other cool memorabilia. I'd like to do a death star Wall Panel behind old Ben and Vader one day......lighted etc... I'd like to get all the current desk top items up on the wall and get my Signed Posters up. That will pretty much do it aside from tweaking the displays as upgrades allow.

I love your collection. You have a nice one! I know what you mean about space, I wish I had a house for costumes and props!

I'd need a warehouse to do all the things I would like to do. I have some Alien and Trek, Indiana Jones items I'd like to display. Just no room. :)
