I am very happy with it - unlicensed but very accurate. And best of all - NO LETTERS! Its a size 11, just like the movie ring, and has some nice weight to it. Got a pretty accurate chain too. The first pic is with flash, the rest without.

Yeah, I got the Hansen stamp inside mine, just to prove it is one. Now I kinda wish it didn't have the mark, but heck it's sterling not gold, so the ring isn't accurate anyhoo.

What is a Hansen ring, and where would you get one. My husband and I were thinking about replacing our rings, as ours were kind of cheapy sterling. Since we've both lost weight, they're starting to be uncomfortable and mine is bending.
Jens Hansen is Gold and Silversmith workshop in New Zealand that made the actual rings for the movie.

I saw some of these when they we're for sale from the workshop who made the rings from the movie. It was just ridiculous how much they we're asking for one, like 300$+ There's basically nothing special about the ring, its just a plain gold ring. It dosen't even have the lettering on it, but as I recall that was on the inside anyway so if you we're wearing it you'd never even see that part. Unless you told someone 'its from LoTR' they'd probably think you we're insane for spending that kind of money!
Thanks guys! It was made by a company in Thailand, and cost me about $40 I dont think its actual gold plating, but next to something that is, it is indistinguishable. Its a prop replica, all about looks, so saving a few hundred dollars is definately worth it to me...

The prices charged by the Hansen shop compare remarkably well to the cost of custom-made rings in general. And the shape is VERY special, I've never seen another ring with the same details. The lack of lettering is a non-issue as no replica can possible recreate the appearance of the letters from the movie except maybe the MR Sauron ring, which is a different animal.
Owning a Hansen ring is not about impressing people, good God. It's about the pleasure of owning something made by the same shop as the ones which got you excited about the thing in the first place.
You don't have to want one, but there's a lot of things each of us don't want in this hobby, that doesn't mean we should tell other people that they're stupid. :lol
