My New Dreads - First Attempt

Well my girlfriend came thru for me, she managed to have lying in her basement a very nice furniture steamer, so away I go. Not sure if I am on the right track (csharding this post is mainly for you!) I welcome all opinions. The darker ones are ones I used an iron on before I had a steamer. The lighter ones are a mixture of 3 different Kanekalon hair colors and were steamed only. My biggest issue is, are there supposed to be that many fly-aways? Other than that they seem to be holding well. I steam, wait, repeat, wait, etc.

Not to shabby! They look like they could use a little bit more twisting. Twist them badboys fairly tight but not too tight that they start twirling and curling up on you. They colors are great by the way. With Kanekalon hair you will get the fuzzies sticking off the dread. I simply use a pair of scissors and trim them off to clean up the look but not too much so that the dread looks fake.

Yep, I think you're right about the twisting. I get them twisted up and realize how thin they are, so let them loosen up a little before I hit them withh the steam. I guess I gotta start with more hair. But at least I have a good steamer to work with, so that's a load off my mind. I am going to spend a couple days trying to crank out as many of these as I can and attempt to get them looking better. That way I'll take the best of the bunch and hopefully get my wig done soon!
