My Mpc Millennium Falcon

This is kind of a test. After a two year epic battle I'm finally going to document my build... 20140830_013647.jpg20140813_160000.jpgFirst thing I did was started researching and tracking down after market parts. After a long frustrating attempt to obtain a falcon kit upgrade I somehow got my hands on a Blue moon sidewall set. I then discovered Tony, 308 bits on shapeways and away I went 20141003_122900.jpg20140813_160009.jpg 20150624_235225.jpg20150421_153939.jpg20150712_234000.jpg20150715_233640.jpg Good enough start I suppose..

Looks like you're off to a great start.
I've had this kit stashed away for years and never attempted it for fear I couldn't do it justice. Yours is coming along very nicely and the upgrades really make this kit look great. I thought about just getting the Bandai kit but I like the size of this one. I only recently learned of the Blue Moon kit but it isn't available anymore. How do you like working with the 3D printed parts ?

You got alot of nice parts there. I wish i had the free cash to get those gunner turrets. I ended up making my own in the end. Im still contenplating getting a dish and quad cannons.

I look forward to seeing what else you do on the MPC.

Sorry for my late response my phone was destroyed but actually after getting used to the idea the worked out really well 308 bits upgrades are great also the blue moon upgrades are scarce but still out there they were available at starship modeler less than a month ago but I missed them.

The turrets were a little expensive but so worth it . Over the past two years I've been kit bashing buying shipway's specifically 308 bits parts little by little build parts here and there until well now.

The Turret wells Cockpit parts landing ramp. are all 308 bits parts View attachment 596693not sure why every photo of my landing ramp is coming up sidewaysView attachment 596694I love this photo I know its not weathered yet if I build the hallway on my next build I intend to do the lighting differently though View attachment 596704initially I decided not to replace or add pipework that did not work out how ever I do like the more realistic look it adds to the falcon View attachment 596706 the forth and fifth landing bays are also 308 bitsView attachment 596709View attachment 596710I also had never used photo etched parts before not the nightmare I expected View attachment 596711I also decided to build my falcon clean no blast marks or battle damage, with light weathering View attachment 596712 ok maybe the next one 20160122_191114.jpg20160122_191146.jpgthis is kinda where I'm at right now

Beautiful build! I've got falcon kit upgrades, but I might do some shopping at shapeways. Thanks for sharing.

What always bothered me was if you look directly below the cockpit tube there is a half moon shaped recess in the exact area that the tube would run if the side walls had been the correct I used it as a guide when working my blue moon side panels 20160117_235343.jpg so if mpc never intended to release a correct version?
