I search the LPAD badge number 5893 of Martin Riggs ( Mel Gibson ) on
Lethal weapon 1 photo here but hum! very not easy.

the badge number 778 is Sergeant Roger Murtaugh Lethal weapon 1
the badge number 25 is Captain Roger Murtaugh Lethal weapon 4
the badge number 566 is Lieutnant Detective Anna ( Al Pacino ) on Heat
the badge number 75 is Lieutnant Edmond Exley ( Guy Pearce ) on L.A. Confidential
the badge number 1490 is Sergeant Jack Vincennes ( Kevin Spacey ) on L.A. Confidential
the LAPD Detective badge John McClane on Die Hard 2 is number 8986

Most Prop LAPD badges are made with blank number, rank and city spaces and then a clear back decal is applied to fit what they need.

Look at how "DETECTIVE" is skewed...

If you look at the word Detective on the badge in the picture with the dope, the letters slowly move up so that by the time it gets to the letters 'I', 'V' and 'E' at the end, they are almost going over the edge.

So the prop department can just re-use the same LAPD badge over and over again without having to get it recast with engraved numbers.

Sometimes you will see a prop LAPD badge with "Los Angeles" and "Sergeant or Detective" actually engraved but the number space is blank.

Here is a prime example. Of course the owner altered this photo for protective purposes but you can clearly see that the numbers are on a clear backed decal:
