So I have been browsing the forums for almost a year now but never took the time to register until now. Seeing you guys build amazing things made me want to jump in!
Here I am, wanting to make a Mark 1 suit. In my research I found a few guys that made amazing mk1 suits and others that bought theirs, but I don't have their patience or money so I looked for a pepakura model, the only one I found that was still shared was JFcustoms file in his foam thread. Unfortunately it was not to my liking (no offense to the person that modeled it! )
The model seems to be for something else than a pepakura costume. So I began remodeling it in 3DSMax... I am not a professional 3D modeler so please be gentle. I have access to 3D modeling software due to my job!
For now I have redone the torso, helmet, hip piece and right arm. you will notice that I removed the flamethrower, simply because I will use a dollar store bottle I have laying around for that. Also I will do the back by adding random hardware but it won't be movie accurate (though I will have the main parts). The final pep file will be less "square" than JFcustom file so cardstock models will be possible.
This is a lot more work than I thought... lol
Left is JFcustom model and on the right is the model I'm working on.
EDIT :
Thanks for whoever posted jason_ehl flikr album, this is helping A LOT!!!
