Was organizing portfolio images when I realized I almost never post pics of my work on the RPF so here's an example.
This is a steampunk "monocle" I did for Baycon in 2009 (though I never attended ... long story). Almost all plastic save for the leather strap and a few metal details.

There's a flasher mechanism inside so that the lens emits random pulses of multi-color light (the idea is that it's a device for seeing other dimensions, not simply viewing stuff far away).
I've been asked why I chose silver over brass, the usual steampunk convention and it was because I had only been able to find chrome loupes. Of course, I found them in brass about a week after this was done ...
Used a little bit of everything: sheet stock, Soyuz capsule pieces, Billy Blastoff sled wheel, handcuff key, lawn sprinkler ring, cut-away submarine missile tube, hair dryer nozzle, more.
