Well I haven't got it yet, still need to pay for it.. But I just bought an Indiana Jones Costume off Ebay.. It's a 100% accurate replica of the costume worn by actor Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones films, and is a replication of the costume worn by the mannequin at The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios ( or formerly Disney - MGM Studios ) in Orlando, Florida..

It's an expensive replication made to be worn lightly.. The whip is 100% functional and ready to crack, also a really exciting feature is that the leather jacket that is included in this huge Indiana Jones costume lot is 100% leather and made by the same folks who manufactured the leather jackets for Harrison Ford in all four Indiana Jones films!

This is what I got:

x1 Indiana Jones Fedora ( 100% fur felt, hat size of 7 1/2 or 60cm )..

x1 Indiana Jones Khaki Shirt ( size XXL )..
x1 Indiana Jones Trousers ( silk pants, waist 46cm )..

x1 Indiana Jones Leather Jacket ( 100% leather, jacket size 52 )..

What the you think? Worth the US$799 I spent? Would love to hear what people think and whether it was worth it..

I already chimed in on this yesterday, but I should probably let you know that the jacket was not made by the same people in all 4 movies and the one pictured by itself is not made by any of those 3 people/companies. Not sure if that was just a picture they thought looked good or the actual one they were selling. From the mannequin shot I'd say that is the Todd's Costumes jacket, though. From the looks of it most of that is from Todd's costumes, except the shirt and pants, which are made by Wested, who made the jackets for Raiders and LC, and the gloves, which look like pretty standard insulated cold weather gloves.

yes the items it's réplica Todd's
for me the réplica bag Todd's it's not very nice ( just my opinion )

A real MKVII bag is only $45 from What Price Glory. Worth the price to know you got the real deal.

Almost all of the pictures used in that auction were taken from either Todd's Costumes' website or Wested's Website.

I'm skeptical of anyone that uses borrowed pictures without crediting where they came from, because if these items actually came from Wested and Todd they'd certainly want to say that, right?

And most of the info given in the auction text is conflicting. Why say the pieces are "100% accurate" to what Harrison Ford wore, yet say they're based on the clothes worn by the Disney figure. The Disney figure isn't close to being accurate in any way.

Why say the jacket is made by the same company that made jackets for all four movies, when the same company wasn't used for all four flims? And they used a picture of Todd's jacket, who didn't make jackets for ANY of the films.

Hmmm, what else? Silk pants? Indy's pants should be wool.

Besides, if you'd bought the same items from Todd, you'd have spent a lot less.

Fedora $100

Shirt $50

Leather Jacket $150

Weapons Belt $30

Whip holder $20

Holster $30

Bullwhip $100

Satchel $50

Work Gloves $11

Boots $75

That's only $616. Plenty of cash left over to get some pants, and you'd also be able to choose the size of all the pieces.

Anyway, since you've already bought this, I hope what's actually in the box lives up to your expectations. :unsure

Yeah totally agree guys.. I didn't realise the images were taken from another website.. As soon as I said this, and asked for more images, he said it's ok, if you don't want it I'll let you out.. So I'm from buying it.. Lucky I didn't send money..

The shirt in the pic is a wested. I have one but it's definitely not my favourite, Todd's shirt i much better.

I want you to really think about how much you love Indy and decide if this is a casual interest - as far as getting the costume together - or an interest that you have a lot of passion for.
I ask this because your feelings on it will determine which 'grade' gear to buy.
There are several vendors for almost every piece of gear, varying in price, quality, availability and screen accuracy.
Toddscostumes.com is a virtual 'one stop shop' for all your gear needs. The great thing about Todd's stuff, is that they are pretty authentic looking and at a very reasonable price. As stated before, you can get a great gear setup for under $800.
You don't have to get ALL your gear from Todd's - some items, if you want higher-end quality, can be bought from other vendors.
If you haven't already, you should register at the Club Obi-Wan forum. It's a message board dedicated specifically for Indiana Jones 'costuming'.
www.indygear.com/cow
I cannot say enough how valuable a resource COW is. When I first joined, I was a lost little puppy - but a few months later, I had met a lot of great people, learned a WHOLE lot about Indy's gear, and was able to make informed purchase decisions based on my needs and budget.
Before joining, I thought buying an Indy fedora was a cut-n'-dry thing. "Sure, I'll go online real quick and buy an accurate Indiana Jones hat"
Nope! There are many vendors, and many choices in the realm of accuracy, price, quality. It took some time being on COW, but I learned enough to make an educated decision on which hat to go after.
The best thing for you to do now (if your Gear quest is going to be a lasting passion) would be to join COW and learn and contribute on that board. I'm glad I did and I think you will too!

Yeah.. Decided against it and spoke to the guy and asked for more pics.. When I looked at them and the advice of members here found I can make own going via Todds etc.. Will be looking into it more in the near future..

Being more on the "hardcore" side when it comes to authenticy and all, lemme assure you that you won't get far with 799$, if you want to be REALLY authentic. Costume replicas, ok, but definately not if you're looking for the same quality and maker as used in the movies. Alone the whip is more than that :confused

Some of the guys over at Indygear (incl. myself) have spend several thousand bucks on getting the most accurate gear possible and personally I'm not even done yet.

Of course, for me it's a little easier as I'm kinda sitting at the source:) but it's still an expensive hobby nontheless.

Regards,

Marc

Whats great about Indy Gearing is that it can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want - there are gear pieces available to fit almost any budget. It boils down to personal tastes, affinity for complete accuracy, budget, longevity of passion for gearing etc...
I won't be doing any stunt work or whip cracking competitions or swinging from trees with my whip - and since it will be on display 99.9% of the time, I personally won't need to buy a high-end whip. At that point, one of Todd's $150 10-foot whips will do the job great, and look very accurate to the movie as well.
I think what costs the most - for those with an undying love for getting perfection - would be the whip and the jacket. I know a jacket from the maker who supplied them for Crystal Skull sells his for close to a grand!
Some whips go well over a grand as well - but even the best hats on the market are realatively affordable and very authentic.
Again - you gotta ask yourself WHAT exaclty you plan on doing with your gear? If you want to be dragged under a truck, don't buy one of Todd's jackets. Not built for that.
The top of the totem pole when it comes to the fedora is hands down a hand-made from Marc. The bottom would be - IMO - the Christy's Adventurer. I won't include the Dorfman hat because we all know how utterly terrible that one is.

Ooooooh yes.... Agee to that completely. I never spend so much money in clothes... I never thought that I would do one day... And I never thought that I waer these clothes only one some days in the year... Sounds crazy right?!? :lol

But after all: this is something everyone must know for himself. Someone spend more in his clothes, other one less. Thats ok, but of course everyone does the right, if he check stores and forums like this first, before buying something. There are some great boards outside, where you can finf all information you must know for getting a costume.

I never bought a Fedora, but not why Im not interested in Indiana Jones or Im not interested in getting a hat. I just want to wait if all other projects are done and I can finally spend a real big amount in an acurate hat... :lol

One day this costume comes to Life. Hope Marc makes till hats that day... :love

Though the 'perfect' Indy hat is pretty much a matter of opinion, it is well documented that Marc's offerings are pretty much the best on the market, anywhere in the world. If you are only ever going to buy ONE Indy hat and have some cash to spend - go with an Adventurebilt. I have the AB Henry and I could not be happier - Marc, you did an absolutely outstanding job getting these made!
