My Halloween Project - The Black Pearl

Every year in October I decorate my house for Halloween (usually giant spiders and such) and I also decorate the inside of the garage for Halloween night. The garage is usually not scary since we have a lot of younger children in the neighborhood. Last year we did Star Wars in the garage. The year before it was Batman. Well this year it's going to be Pirates of the Caribbean. At first I was just going to do something small in the garage, but my wife (she regrets this) gave me a better idea - "why not build the Pearl?" Why not indeed....

Can the kids play on it? (How many times did you hafta say, 'it's not done yet, hon." ) Are you going to light it up with flicker lanterns or spot llights or fog? I've never done anything more than just facades and lighting.
If that was for Pirates, I think we would all love to see what you came up with for Star Wars. Thats our theme this year but please don't tell me your house turned into the Death Star or I'm canceling Halloween....

Thanks for all the kind words. My kids (I have two daughters - 3 and 5) love to stand on the deck and yell "ahoy matey!" to everyone that walks past the house. They are both going to dress up as pirates, my wife too. I, of course, will be Captain Jack Sparrow. I have friends coming as Will and Elizabeth. I'm going to build stairs for the kids to come up on the Pearl if they want to. Then they "walk the plank" down a slide off the other side. I'm finishing up the fog chiller and plan to run fog out of the bottom of both side so it looks like it's in the water. Should be a blast!

Thats great! I never thought to try Tatooine. Great fun. I love how the jawa eyes light up! Ha-My kids want jawas now. That tusken looks great- I can see some serious detail there. He must be a wearable costume. Thanks for sharing and for the great ideas.
