Hi there fellas! :D

Well.. since I joined this wonderfull place, I thought It would be nice to get some feedback from more experimented people.

It's been from a long time, that I decided I wanted to have a Skyrim Dragon mask, but didn't have the goods and supplies to do it nor to buy it (I actually never found a mask here in Argentina)

So, last week, I decided I should do one for myself.

It was the very first time I actually used Bondo (I'll just call it Bondo, but its polyester putty, which I believe its the same?) for a prop, so I was kinda nervous.

After watching some videos and stuff. I decided to look after a pepakura file (uploaded here by the great user JTM ) of the mask.
and so it began.

Since I was at my little workshop with nothing but the paper templates and the cellphone, I just began to paste it watching the mask in the cell.

I knew it had a lot of flaws, but since I wasn't looking for perfection, I decided it was good to go and added a first layer of resin from the inside to harden the paper.
(no picture since resin was transparent...)

After it, I painted the mask red just because, and began with the first Patch of Bondo which only covered some part of the "mouth", I made a small batch because it was a pretty hot day (33 +/- celsius) and a second one to cover the rest.

A quick sanding with 150/220 grit. and by this moment it was night time so i prepared a bigger batch and applied to the rest of the mask

after this I've realized that it was kind of hard to Sand without actually watching the different "layers" of bondo and so... proceeded to give a
a fast spray paint. (Lets just call it Primer even though it isn't >.< ) and sanded again. and added some more bondo.

I repeated this step (bondo, sand, paint) quite a lot, and by this time I seriously regreted and learned by the hard way that a good start its better (I really should have payed more attention while doing the pepakura)
(Even when it looks like Bondo, in the third picture its actually the same putty with some red/brown acrillic, I decided to replace the paint job with adding colour to the bondo instead. for a much better appreciation of the layers)

Eventually... I ended up with this.

and by now, I actually had run out of putty, so I decided this would be it. And began with the paint job.

funny thing... I actually haven't decided which colour I preferred, either Iron/metalic or more like a black gold/bronze finish.

Therefor the Red and blue marks. (First Blue which was where Metallic would stand out) and the black gold (thats it's spanish name roughly translated to english) would be used us a "dirt" but... I actually liked it, and so, re-do the base paint into a red

Finally, I could smile and see the first layer of the aged golden Skyrim simplified Dragon mask Done. Even though I still regret The fact that couldn't continue to smooth it out.
But overall I am happy with the end result for being my first replica using Bondo.

The pictures where it is warmer its under natural light, the ones where its darker is under flash picture.

And well... this is it. I wanted to share it because I am really proud of it and would love any kind of back up, comments, suggestions, ;)

Just 2 more pictures to check the Starting and ending thing (even though i still need to "age" it)
