My son and I dressed up as Hulk and Thing from Marvel's Fear Itself series for Halloween this year. My son saw the comics and begged me to make them. I started in construction in June. With a full time job and a crazy social life I still ran out of time with the Thing. The Hulk was 75% constructed by hand - The pants, shoe covers, arms and hammer. The chest, mask and gloves were purchased am modified. The Thing was about 95% hand made - I started with a muscle suit that was heavily modified and cant see it without looking on the inside and slip on shoes for the feet base. The costume was padded out by two inches all around and the rocks were stiff foam glued down and painted. Head piece was a clay sculpture that was casted. The hammer was made from wood and a small bit of plastic. I ran out of time to do the worms but I think it still a wonderful piece. Won the family award and our local Halloween Parade and still being the talk of the town. Here are also some brief progress pics. I should of took pics all along.
