This Clonetrooper armor project took about 18 months to complete. This was partly due to busy family/work life and partly due to the Darth Maul project. The intent from the start was to build up an all-white, Episode II grunt.

I trimmed and fitted this armor to fit my 5'08", 175 lb frame. (I'm a shorter trooper amongst the giants in my Garrison.) I got a lot of help from clonesix and Darren (DW design Studios), the current maker of this C6 armor. I tried to photo-document the process as much as I could. Here are some pics from my build.

Chest and Back: The two halves are held together by slot and tab as well as rare earth magnets. The shoulder straps are made by SB.

Abdomen, Belt and Cod: The belt is made by SB. I painted the SB belt while it as wrapped around the abdomen area. There are several layers of Tulip on the belt.

Clone Shoes: For my first attempt, I used an old pair of Converse 1 Stars.

And finally, the helmet:
I began by cutting out a section of the neckring.

Next, I trimmed out the visor area and frown holes.

I added a Magic Sculpt ridge on the sides of the helmet's fin.

Primed and painted.

I padded the helmet with sections of foam knee padding. The battery box to the fan is a Clone Wars Easter box. I added an on/off switch on the side. The wires run out the top of the box to the "ceiling fan" positioned CPU fan.

Here are a few photos from the test run:

A retention clip for the spoon in the right calf snapped off while suiting up. That's why the spoon piece is sticking out a bit in the two photos above. Problem has been fixed since then.

I still need to dirty it up. I thought I'd take the armor out as a "shiny" for the first troop.

Thanks for looking...

Just the standard white Tulip fabric paint. It took several layers, but it was worth it. No cracking or peeling yet.

Cool the belt is one of the last pieces to finish my clone, did you reduce it at all or did you spray it as is?

I used this stuff straight from the bottle:

I brushed on thin layers with a 1" wide foam brush.

I tried the spray-on type at first, but it was too clumpy.
