My Adm Kirk STTMP Uniform

I found a new, well new to me, person to do uniforms and I will go on record as saying this is the most responsive person in her field that I have had to pleasure to work with. She answers emails, she delivers on time, and although she is not as cheap as some others, she is worth it. She asks for a ton of measurements and after that is done, she makes up a "test" garment made to those sizes you provide. She mails you this garment. You then try it on and if needed, and I did, she called me on the phone and walked me through getting to fit just right. It took an hour and she waited as I completed every step. Then I mailed that back to her (she provided a bag with the addresses and such made up already) and then she makes your uniform from the fitting garment. Although she could not find the Loden Green (I guess that it can't be found anymore?) she found some close colors, send me three samples to choose from, and then made it in the color that I picked. The only thing that keeps it from being a perfect fit is that in the last 6 weeks from the test garment fit to now is that I lost some 15 + pounds in the belly. The rank braids are a bit off as well I know but I got as close as I could.

I was really tired when I took these so if it looks like I'm about to go to sleep, it is no reflection on the uniform.

It may not be the "right" color but it "looks" real close to the color it seems to be, and thats good enough for me!! :) You just don't see much of this uniform and I always wanted one although I still think that the Monster Maroon is the best!

Whoa.... very, very, very nice. The white vs. the gray has some really nice contours. Well done! :thumbsup

Thanks I'm very happy with it. I wore it to FREEKON over the weekend and it felt like air compared to my WOK suit.

I've always likes that uniform and regret not seeing it more, too!

Great choice and a nice looking uniform!

Steve

Thanks, I'll see if I can dig up some photos of me in it from FREEKON last weekend when I had it on.

I still have to find the right shoes. Any suggestions?

Looks good Mark....the real color would surprise you as it looks nothing in person like it does on film...its actually a blue green.
BTW was this my friend Suz that did this for you? I told you shes the best. I worked with her a lot to bring her Klingon stuff up to screen used accuracy. ANYONE who wants THE best Klingon stuff needs to talk to her.

It was her. Yes I agree the best that I have had do any work for me. I give her two thumbs up!

Wanted to give this a bump about the shoes. I've looked at the movie a few times now and it looks like it's a shoe and not a boot. Anyone know what it really was?

I wish I knew. I think there are a few shots of the shoes/boots. I know some were sold at some point.....

Someone here will know!

From what I've read in the past, is was a shoe attached to the pants (like the old kiddie PJs). I think the shoes were custom made/fit for the leads, while "generic" sized ones were used for extras. I want to say that all of them were customs in the sense that they weren't fabricated from off the shelf shoes, but I don't recall any hard info to the effect.

Obviously a lot of time and work went into making them, which is probably why they went back to a plain boot for later movies.

TMP uniforms are probably my favorites of all the costumes. They just look so comfortable and the shoes (as far as color) match the pants so well it almost looks like they're attatched (but are not).

I think that I found some slip on shoe that will work. I'm also thinking that some vinyl dye would get them very close to the color of the pants. I'll post a photo after I go back and pick up a pair.
