Muppet builds

Super cool!! You’re working on a very nice range of characters. I especially love the Fozzie! Animal is looking pretty awesome too.

Finally had time to finish Animal (to a point).
I still need to finish the sequins on his clothes and add a chain to the collar. will have to wait till life returns to normal and shops are open again. Here are some progress photos

Can't believe it's been nearly a year since I've posted anything sorry guys it's been a hectic year.

Anyway I recently had some free time to work on my second Gonzo it's going slow but I've work his head so far and this is so much better in terms of size and shape from my first one. Hopefully I can update with more soon.

I am nearing the end of my Gonzo build. I was curious as to what type of fur you used on your Gonzo?

Gonzo is almost done, needs a tie and shoes. I'm pretty happy with him. It has also been a learning curve making adult clothing into puppet sized ones
He looks great! Only the people that have attempted to make their own Gonzo will truly know how difficult it can be. GREAT JOB THOUGH!

Thank you, I will probably do another one in the future there are a few things I would change. But I'm happy for now
Sounds great! I’m actually trying to finish up my first full Gonzo (by that I mean I have carved nearly 10 heads trying to get it right). I’ll post some pics soon.

Hi ho everyone,

So I'm starting this thread to show off my Muppet replica builds. I'm a novice at this and it's something I've been wanting to do for some time.

I'm an animator and sound designer and fitting time in to do these is limited but I'm going to try my best to constantly update my progress on builds as I go.

My first full build was Kermit, like many people he's the go to Muppet. But before that I attempted my all time favourite Gonzo.. jumping right in without thinking of size and complexity what a fool I was... later after making kermit I realised I created MEGA GONZO, he was too big so it got abandoned (for now)....

‘thanks!

Yeah carving can be a pain, this one is about 1inch too big compared to kermit and its noticeable I will make another in the future.

I tend to draw a profile of his head shape on the foam, then cut out that profile then from the top getting the snout shape, then it's just trimming and trimming and trimming.

Look forward to seeing what you do

That's the thing, I've scaled him based on his eye size his mouth width is accurate to kermits, but when I put them side by side he looks big. Same as when next to fozzy I think a marginal amount maybe an inch. I'm fussy with accuracy if something is off I can see it haha

I love a challenge and also love Pepe the king prawn he is currently the puppet I'm building. Not knowing how to create the inner mech (his head is controlled via a ball in the palm and wire on the finger for the mouth) I tried looking for alternatives and rembered something from back in my prop building days for leavers. Using umbrella arms they could make a pulley system. So I sculpted a pepe and created the pattern.
I've been working on another yesterday and today to get the pattern just right. Next weekend I will work on the arms, legs and clothing for both.

Fozzie is next
Pepe is amazing do you have a printable template for his body pattern you’d be willing to share?

Do you have a template that I could print to make his body , if you are willing to share?
