Weathering the costume was done quick and dirty since I was running out of time to get it finished. After getting it assembled I ran it through the wash. I then dyed all the pieces in tan Rit dye to get an even color. Next I dry brushed the edges of all the bandages with the same dye but undiluted. This gave some nice uneven brown tones and brought out the bandage edges. Then I gave the whole thing a dusting with flat black spray paint making sure to get some nice random spatter. Finally I added the blood which was just red food coloring. Not sure what the best thing to use for that would be but the food coloring worked great. Overall it was a pretty hasty job, but I was splitting the difference between speed and detail (leaning towards speed!) All things considered I thought it turned out well. Thanks a lot for the compliments btw!
